kai - no promises

Oml I was originally writing a request and I accidentally switched who was supposed to be in a crash. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Enjoy this while I write the original. This is the SECOND FUCKING TIME THIS HAPPENED!!
I do not have the energy to delete this and rewrite it.

"Hey, gorgeous," Kai greeted me at the end of the school day.

"Hi," I replied, planting a kiss on his cheek. His cheeks warmed, making me snicker silently that he still gets bashful whenever I did anything; and yet still played it off. He wrapped his arms around my waist, putting his head on top of mine. "What's up? You're not usually this clingy." People looked at us and gushed as they always would. We were known as the popular couple. The clichés in books and movies.
That was what I got for dating the school jock.

He sighed, "it's just- I'm really tired." I sympathized for the porcupine headed boy. I knew that his double life was taking a toll on him. I looked up to press a loving beautiful kiss on his lips. He kissed back, more gentle than usual. Wow, then he must be really tired. I sent him a worry frown, my concern growing for the red ninja. He gave me a watery smile in reassurance. I wasn't that quite reassured.

"I have to go to a dentist appointment. I brought my car so you don't have to drive me home today." He didn't like what I said. I knew his ninja instincts wanted me with him and safe at all times, but I reassured him that I was fine. It was just a check up, no anesthesia or laughing gas. Driving home wouldn't be unsafe. "I'll be safe, I promise."

"You can't promise the inevitable, princess," he pressed a kiss to my temple. I didn't think about what he said much. I was too in a rush to get where I needed to go.

"It's in half 'n hour. It's only ten minutes away. I'll call you as soon as I get there," I promised. That was a promise I could keep. He caved, nodding.

"You promise."

"Promise."

Mom told me to never make promises I couldn't keep. I couldn't keep my promise with Kai because I never made it there in the first place. All I felt was ringing everywhere. My head felt horrible. It pounded against my skull, pulsing as it tried to survive. I felt suffocated. It took me what felt like forever to peel my eyes open. One eye after the next, I tried taking in my surroundings.
The airbag was surrounding me. Blood was dripping from my head as I winced when I tried touching it. Everything hurt. From the top of my head to the tip of my toes, pain was the only thing I knew. With the little strength in me, I pushed the airbag away, trying to leave the car. People around me were helping. Attempting to get me out. When they became successful, I couldn't stand. I dropped immediately. The people around me picked me up, because everything became weak.

I couldn't remember what happened next as I started to black out to the sound of the ambulance getting louder.
And louder.
Until my eyes lethargically closed.
