"Okay," Night looked eyes the best he could with the goopy skeleton in front of him, "why did you kill him?"
Mare let out a gruff snarl, "He was planning on hurting you."
"And how do you know?"
"He said it himself and his aura felt malicious. I knew he was planning something with that intent."
"You didn't bother to tell me before hand?"
"I would rather enjoy my actions and take a punishment than be told no."
Night took Mare's words into silent consideration before nodding, "Alright, you win. Just please warn me next time so I don't get a damn heart attack."
Mare perked at Night's word choice, not expecting the mild curse. He was certainly starting to affect Night's way of thought, maybe that was a good thing.
"I will make sure to warn your then."
Night smiled at the taller before humming in thought, "Mare, do you think I could see your castle one day?"
"Hm? What brought this to mind?"
"Nothing, I'm just curious! You speak so highly of it and it sounds so pretty." Night smiled innocently.
Mare smiled at the innocence Night's aura clung to, despite all the misery and self-loathing it held. "I suppose you could come to the castle, you'd meet all the others too. How about we go on Tuesday? Tomorrow will be another day to relax."
Night nodded excitedly, moving himself so he was next to Mare. "That sounds great, I can't wait."
Mare hummed a bit, allowing Night to rest against him. His attention soon turned away from the smaller skeleton, focusing on his surroundings.
They were back by that boulder in the clearing, the gentle rays of moonlight spotlighting them. The world around them was quite besides the few owl screeches and rustle of leaves.
The sky was almost cloudless, a few strays floating calmly in the sky, periodically blocking the moonlight. Stars twinkled above them, showing constellations and galaxies.
He let out a small sigh and smiled, this remind him of his home at the castle. He was going to continue fondly thinking of it when Night tugged at his sleeve and whispered.
"Mare look." Night's voice was quite but it held pure innocent excitement.
Mare looked to where Night was pointing only to meet eyes with a lovely white doe, albino most likely. It's fur gleamed in the low light as it starred the two down before approaching.
It's head lowering to munch on the lush grass. Though the doe wasn't the only thing there, a fawn followed behind her. The little thing was black as night and it's legs still wobbled as it followed it's mother.
Mare watched with subtle interest, his eye locking onto the fawn. Night only grinned, starry eyed at the both of them. This reminded Mare that he never had full control of the dreamscape, and it made him smile.
Mare glanced towards Night, seeing just how happy he was to see these two.

Achoo!
Night rubbed his nonexistent nose with his sleeve, sniffling a bit. He let his arm fall back to his side and leaned against the tree, his hand stroking the black ball of fur that napped in his lap.
A soft yawn escaped his mouth as he closed his eyes, ready to go back to sleep until his brother's voice caught his attention. "Nighty?"
Night opened his eyes with a gently sigh, sleep still attempting to drag him back into the deep yet blissful void. "Yes Dream?"
"We... We need to talk."
Night shot up, his body going stiff. "About what?"
Dream frowned at Night's harsh reaction but shook it off, "Well, Ink..."
A mewl cut Dream off as Mare got up, stretching in Night's lap. He brought himself around to face Dream before sitting neatly, his ears perked and attentive.
"What about Ink?" Night spoke silently, a hint of worry lacing his words as his hand went back to stroking obsidian fur. Had Ink done something to his brother?
Dream perked at his brother's sudden change in aura that swapped sleepy and relaxed to worried and uptight. He took a slightly deep breath before speaking, "Ink is coming over and I think you should be aware that we're in a relationship."
Night paused and starred at his younger brother, "You mean to say you and Ink are dating?"
"Yes."
"I see..."
Night looked down to Mare with a slight frown and the cat drew out a meow, lifting itself up to rub against his chin.
"How long?"
"Two months."
"Oh."
Dream looked at his brother with concern, reaching out to him. "Are you alrig-"
Night raised his hand to him, stopping Dream's efforts to get close to him. "I'm fine... you don't need to worry about me."
"Nighty..."
Night scooped Mare up in his arms, the feline climbing onto his shoulder as the older twin got up. "I'll leave so you can spend time with Ink, I'd rather not be a bother."
Before Dream could even think to stop Night his twin was already off, walking towards the woods. The bright skeleton left out a defeated sigh, frowning slightly.
Night didn't even try to look back, starring at the ground as he feet brought him deeper into the woods. Mare continued to rub his head against Night's, a decent attempt to cheer him up. In reality he wasn't the best at it.
Night found a rather large tree and chose to sit under that. Mare jumped off his shoulder, allowing Night to sit and curl up, holding his knees close to his chest.
Tears swelled in Night's eyes as he hide his face, sobs soon enough racking through his body. Each tremble and shake held another sob as he mumbled under his breath.
Mare pawed at Night softly, mewing quietly before turning into the cougar version of himself. Night let go of his legs, letting them slip down as he opened his arms for Mare. The cougar accepted it, laying calmly between his legs and rubbing his head against his chest.
Night's arms wrapped around Mare gently as he wiped his tears away. Stopping his sniffling and sobbing. He didn't understand why he was so upset about this... shouldn't he be happy for his brother?
Night let out a shaky sigh, hugging Mare gently as the cougar just let him. Rubbing his head against Night he could feel his aura calm down.
Mare let out a huff, rolling onto his back and playfully batting the air gently. His paws patting Night's cheeks to which the skeleton let out a giggle.
Night's hand lifted, scratching behind the big cat's ears with a smile. He was grateful to have such a good friend ... a great difference to what he was used to.
