Dream starred up at Mare with slight worry and hesitance, not really along with the plan entirely. Night took notice and smiled reassuringly to his brother. Dream looked to his brother and smiled back gently, grabbing his hand. Mare growled at the action silently.
Night glanced to Mare and giggled, causing the taller to ease up slightly as his tendrils relaxed while keeping their hold on the groceries. His remaining tentacle opened the portal, allowing Night to walk through, then Dream, and lastly himself.
The castle was nothing like Dream thought it would be. Dark and dreary was the opposite... the castle was entirely lit by the soft blue lights on top of chandeliers and the lights that stood on the side of the balconies that help what Dream could only assume was more than a thousand rooms.
Any place the light didn't reach was filled in by moonlight which shone through windows and various skylights.
Night was the first to wander, introducing Dream with a happy smile, setting rules a boundaries such as; no harassing, being kind and help full, and watchful of him. The inhabitants easily agreed, a few smiling at Night's words and caring tone.
Dream was amazed.
It was when Mare walked off to the kitchen that Night disappeared with him. No one made a move to talk to him, allowing him to grow accustomed to his new surroundings.
Dream only plopped himself on the couch, curling in the corner of it. On the other side sat what Dream knew as the Murderous Trio, the only strange part was that they were all cuddled together.
Horror was laying was Dust and Killer on top of him and Killer was holding Dust to his chest. Both Dust and Killer were asleep which made Dream relax slightly. Horror was fixated on the TV chuckling at the detective show.
It was when Dream's eyes wandered down that he became really surprised. Next to the couch laid a brown wolf, who was quietly feasting on a large piece of meat with the bone still intact. Dream watched as it carefully cleaned the bone, dainty and neat.
The next sight Dream stumbled on was when he sat up a bit to look behind the couch. A card game between Error and Cross, along with a few other skeletons he'd never seen before.
When he looked to the left he saw a bunch of other skeletons, whom all he knew, Love, Epic, Hope, Reaper, and even Fresh. They were all laughing, likely something that Fresh said.
Dream's question was, why were they here? They weren't bad Sanses, well Fresh was ify, but still. Dream's thought process was cut off but Night's voice.
"Dinner's ready!" Heads raised and people began moving towards the dinning room. Horror woke the two and got them up for dinner. Dream was the last to head to the dinning room.
Night smiled at him as he passed out plates of food, "Dream, you can sit between me and Hell."
Dream could only assume that the two empty seats between Mare and a skeleton he'd never seen before was the right space. Hesitantly he sat down, smiling a tad at the sight of food.
Night dropped off the last plate and headed to his seat, plopping down with a smile.
People were already eating, Horror stuffing his face with food and the table getting a laugh out of it. Dream glanced at Night before finally beginning to eat and he perked at the taste.
The skeleton beside him, Hell, was practically inhaling his food, seemingly wanting to fall into a food coma.
A giggle left Dream's mouth and Night glanced at him with a smile.
Dinner passed quickly enough and Night showed Dream to his room, which was right next to his own.
"This'll be your room," Night smiled softly, "if you need anything I'm right next door."
Dream smiled at his brother, "Thank you Night."
Night nodded gently, "It's no problem Dream, it's great to have you here."
Dream only watched as Night left to his room, smiling a bit as he watched his brother leave. He really didn't deserve Night, how someone like him ended up with such a person as a brother was a mystery.
He snapped out of his thoughts when the door closed. Dream sighed a bit and entered his room, smiling a bit at the sight of a small tv and a few outdated magazines. The room was rather clean as well.
Dream hummed and grabbed the magazine's, jumping a bit when he heard a voice in Night's room before relaxing when he realized it was Night's voice.
Although it was extremely muffled and difficult to hear but Dream could easily identify it as happy humming. The sound of his preppy foot steps dancing around the room came second, and soon enough Dream finally was able to hear the music come from the radio.
He smiled and giggled, listening to his brother dance around to the music.
Dream sighed and moved towards the bed, sitting on it before laying back and opening on of his the magazines. While reading he absentmindedly let his hand rest over his ecto stomach.
The sound of footsteps outside his room made him perk up and the gentle sound of Night's door opening followed.
Dream couldn't help become intrigued as he listened to the voices.
Night's was the first to sound up, "Kitty? Are you okay? You look stressed out."
"Paperwork." Was the only reply... was that Nightmare's voice?
Night's voice showed a bit more concerned, "Is there any thing I can do?"
"Sit on my lap and cuddle me until I can't feel my legs."
Night giggled, "Fine, but you should try to go to sleep early tonight."
"Hell no," the bed creaked, most likely form Nightmare sitting on it, "you know I have trouble going to bed early."
Night sighed, the bed creaking once more, "I know Kitty, but if you won't sleep then neither will I, besides, you want cuddles right?"
A small yes was all Dream needed to flip out internally and he whispered under his breath in surprise and shock, "What the fuck?"
