Time, rebel as it is, passes quickly. With it brings the cries of seasons and songs of life and death. No matter how hard we try, time continues to march through, led by the general sun and followed by the service moon.
Time did indeed pass on. An entire two months in fact.
Night continued to live with Mare, visiting his brother and friends, even meeting new ones.
At the current moment, Night sat curled up on the couch next to Hate and Error, Reaper sat on the ground between Error's legs and Hope(Hate's soon to be husband) laid over his lover's lap. Night might've felt like a fifth wheel but he didn't mind, in fact he was to focused on the TV show.
The soft giggles he made were enough to show he was content and happy, snuggled into one of Mare's blankets that he'd snatched off the bed. Mare made no move to stop him, instead only giving him a quick yet curious glance when he looked up from his book.
Night glanced to Reaper when he saw the god move out of the corner of his eye, he ignored it and took a deep breath. He was still jumpy and he really couldn't help it but he had gotten better with separation, though he could only last about an hour on his own.
Night turned his attention back to the TV, smiling at the sight of the cheetah cub poking its head out of its den. Someone wasn't to fond of the sight and growled, barking at the image on the TV. Night only giggled at the wolf's actions before calling him over. "Peewee! Here boy."
Peewee bounded over the moment he heard his name, sniffing Night carefully as the skeleton's hand approached his head. When it finally made contact Peewee only leaned into it.
Hate snarled at the wolf, "Fuckin' flee bag."
"Says the one who's actually gotten flees." Night retorted causing Hope to giggle.
Hate glared, "I'll wring up."
"You'll wring who?" Mare hummed, frowning a bit. "Certainly you aren't talking about Pup."
Hate sneered, "What if I am, what are you gonna do about it you hentai freak?"
Mare raised his hand and smacked Hate on the back of the head, "Your skull would make a great salad bowl, keep that in mind."
Hate hissed at the smack and glared sharply only to be met with Mare's cold glare. He bit his tongue and decided now wouldn't be a good time to get strangled.
Night only giggled, finally standing up and letting the blanket slip off of him. He stretched out lazily with a yawn. "Is it time to make dinner?"
Mare nodded softly, "Wanna help?"
Night only nodded with a hum, following Mare with a gentle smile.
Mare grabbed the ingredients from the fridge while Night gathered ingredients from the pantry. The two seemingly making conversation with silence as neither spoke.
It was quiet save for the sound of measuring cups or the sound of the sink from time to time. They danced around each other oh so easily, a routine they created unconsciously.
They worked well together, Mare sliding things to Night when needed and Night adding things such as spices where Mare lacked. It was similar to clockwork.
When finally done they laughed off the fact that they'd made a giant mess, helping each other clean up. Night slipping under Mare's arm to grab a fallen spoon, Mare side stepping so he wouldn't bump into him.
Little did the two know they had somewhat of an audience, mostly hungry skeletons waiting for food but then there was Error and Cross. The two smug bastards were in the middle of formulating a plan, finally over the way the two avoided their feelings for each other.
Night glanced to the crowd and smiled, "It'll be done in forty!"
Mare hummed at that, watching the crowd nod and leave for the most part noting how Cross and Error stayed behind.
"Hm? What are you two idiots doing?" Mare questioned the two, letting Night go off to do the dishes.
"Nothing big!" Cross smiled, "We're just.."
Error slapped his hand over Cross's mouth, "We're planning something for the weekend!"
Mare lifted a brow but didn't question it, instead he went back to Night's side. His arms snaking around his waist and pulling Night's much smaller body into him. Night only smiled as Mare rested his head on Night's, a soft and content rumble in the taller's throat.
"You're very cuddly all the sudden?" Night smiled at him.
"I didn't get enough cuddles last night."
"Mare, you had your arms in a death lock around me this morning." Night huffed. Mare grumbled, leaning into Night slightly and Night gave in and giggled. "Fine, we'll go cuddle some, okay?"
Mare smiled and nodded before frowning. Maybe he should actually ask Night out...
The two weren't together but they might as well be, considering the way the two are with each other it almost seems like they should be together. Mare's only problem is that he didn't want to make Night uncomfortable, he was always careful with that.
He let out a sigh, closing his eye to clear his head only to perk when he felt Night turn around in his arms. The sight of Night pressed against his chest was enough to make Mare's soul race like it had so many times before. Night didn't speak, only leaning into Mare and pressing the side of his face into Mare's chest.
"Your soul is always so loud... it's very soothing."
Mare stuttered a bit, "Y..You think so huh?"
Night let out a small hum, snuggling into Mare more and more before smiling up at him. "Let's go see if we can find a movie to watch while in bed, okay?"
Mare nodded softly, his arms loosening and letting go of Night, "That sounds nice. How about we get a movie recommendation from Error, he probably has some good ones."
Night grinned, "That's a great idea!"
