Gentle waves of moonlight washed over the dark clad room, only disappearing when clouds covered the room. No light other than the moon's made an appearance.
The soft sounds of crickets and wild noises of the forest that surrounded the castle, somewhere near by an elk called out to its calf. That was outside the safety of the castle; inside, the only sounds heard when the soft breaths of two skeletons.
The larger laid out on his back, head propped up by the pillow beneath him and his tendrils splayed around and on the bed. The smaller, on the other hand, was curled up on top of the taller. Nuzzled into his chest and mouth somewhat parted, all while his head was resting right over the other's soul.
Peaceful and tranquil, the two without worry or fear.
A soft rustle from the trees outside with a new breeze, bringing with it the cold season. It rushed through the forest with promise of what was to come, though not one was to concerned about the on coming change.
Outside the quiet room, footsteps echoed through the castle while the team was already getting ready to deal with the cold.
Dust and Killer where wrapped in a blanket together, Horror sitting behind them on the couch. Cross and Epic were cuddled together, Epic using Cross's jacket as a blanket. Error and Reaper were sitting somewhat apart from each other but kept their hands together as the shared a blanket.
A movie played on the TV, a rather uninteresting one but still enough to keep them watching. Peewee was the only one not interested at all, his head resting on Horror's lap as he chewed on his hand.
A strong gust of wind replaced the gentle breeze, the cold forcing its way in with unforgiving vengeance. The inhabitants of the castle didn't mind though, all of them comfy enough to be oblivious to the outside.
It was when Horror finally had enough of the boring movie that he spoke up, leaning deeper into the couch. "I swear, the boss sleeps longer than Hell."
That got a chuckle from Error, "Night too apparently."
"Lucky ones, they don't need food, they could sleep for an eternity if they wanted." Cross huffed, laughing a bit.
"How long has it even been?" Epic hummed, starring up at his boyfriend.
Killer answered, "Almost seventeen hours, new record."
Dust huffed, "You think they're actually sleeping?"
"No doubt, you know how it is." Error replied, "They're probably just relaxing together or something."
The others only nodded, excepting the theory silently.
Silence turned into soft rustling, a light yawn breaking the barrier.
Night sat up tiredly, his legs straddling Mare's hips and a hand pressed against the taller's ribcage as he rubbed his eye socket. The taller opened his eye lazily at the movement.
Mare suppressed a yawn, smiling up at Night softly. Night only smiled back, sleep still keeping a rather tight hold on him. The only response Night got from that was a hand cupping his cheek, which he leaned into.
"Morning, Puppy."
Night only hummed a response, leaning deeper into his hand. Mare smiled, brushing his thumb against the smaller's cheek.
When Mare's hand pulled away, Night huffed a bit but excepted it, making no move to get off Mare in the slightest. Mare excepted it, only moving the two of them when he wanted to sit up.
"So, what are we doing today?" Night tilted his head.
"Let's take a walk today, it'd be nice to before winter rolls around." Mare offered.
Night nodded softly, happy with that idea, before moving to get up. The only thing stopping him was the tendril that wrapped around his waist when he tried to move.
His face flushed and he gripped the tendril slightly, "Mare!"
The taller said nothing, replacing the tendril with his arms before burying his face into the smaller's shoulder. Night froze a bit but relaxed, sighing in defeat.
"Fine," Night gave in, "but I still want to go on that walk." That earned him a soft kiss on his shoulder, making him shiver at the foreign affection.
The two stayed there until they were content and Mare had finally got rid of his sleepy feeling. Mare let Night go, watching the smaller linger a bit before getting up and allowing Mare to get up as well.
Night was the first out the door but Mare caught up quickly, greeted by Night's bright excited smile.
The sound of their steps caught the attention of the other's.
"Look who's finally up." Error teased.
Mare only rolled his eyes and Night wandered towards the kitchen. "What are you doing?"
"Watching a movie," Horror answered, "pretty boring one at that."
Mare only nodded, "Have fun with that." Night then returned, a peeled orange in his hand as he happily ate.
"Are you ready to go?" Night asked softly, Mare nodded.
"Where are you two going?" Cross perked.
"We're going on a walk."
"In this weather?" Dust raised a brow.
"We'll be fine." Night reassured, "Push comes to shove we can always use a portal to get back."
The others nodded and the two headed out, being greeted by the colds winds, which neither minded. Night offered Mare a piece of the orange while they walked and Mare accepted it without question.
Night's eyes wander aimlessly, glancing up at the night sky once in a while. Mare took notice and smiled, "Night, follow me."
The smaller perked and happily agreed, sticking to Mare's side. Mare led him through trees and bushes, humming slightly as they walked.
In about ten minutes, they arrived at the location.
A lake, it's water's reflecting the night sky perfectly. The soft ripples in the water made it seem like the stars were dancing to the song of the birds and bugs. It was beautiful.
Night couldn't stop his eye lights turning into bright stars at the sight, approaching the water's edge with a bright grin. He glanced up towards the sky, thousands of stars flickering and brightening the sky.
"Wow..." Night's breath stuttered and Mare chuckled causing the smaller to look at him.
Mare smiled gently, "You're so cute."
Night felt the heat rise to his face and he looked away shyly, unsure of how to respond. Mare only hummed a bit in question, moving to Night's side. His tendrils pulled Night into his side gently which caused Night's blush to brighten.
A chuckle from Mare and he pressed a kiss against Night's head.
