"Why in the name of Mary Poppins does he have that big ass blanket?" Error whisper to his friend.

Mare shrugged, "I didn't want him a catch a cold."

Error shook his head, "So who is this guy anyway?"

Mare smiled a tad, "His name Night, he's the guardian of negativity."

Error paused, looking at Mare with wide eyes, "You didn't..."

"I sure as hell didn't, don't be getting any ideas." Mare glared at the glitchy skeleton, "Besides, a relationship is the last thing he needs."

"What do you mean?"

Mare sighed, sitting on the bed Night quietly slept on. "I'm sure he's developing trust issues... he found out a human was using him not to long ago and his brother seems to keep holding back important information from him."

"Surely there's more to it?"

Mare scoffed, "The poor thing's been beaten and assaulted, even... well you know."

Error frowned, "Who would do that?"

"Villagers... I found him in the woods after he accidentally killed one of them for trying to... rape... him."

"Well now I'm tempted to commit arson, Nightmare."

Mare raised his hand to shush him, "We will kill those people, except for a few, some treat him nicely."

Error nodded gently, "Of course, do you think he'll be okay with our rampage?"

"As long as we don't go after anyone kind."

-~*~-

Dream was starting to get worried, he expected Night to be back when he got home but sadly the older twin was no where sight.

Ink was long gone, having stayed back at his place to.. ahem... clean up, and Blue was busy hanging out with Fell.

Dream took it on himself to search for his brother, he could test his tracking skills while he was at it!

Happily, the guardian of positivity took off towards the woods, his feet carrying him outwards.

He carefully looked around the wooded area, eyes searching for any clue of his brother. It didn't take long though, thanks to the imprints in the ground that had never healed leading Dream. Though this trail seemed... hurried? Like he was running from something... someone?

He followed the tracks forward, wanting to see where Night was headed in such a rush, though the footsteps only lead him to to a boulder in the middle of the clearing. From the looks of it Night had sat here for a while.

Dream's eyelights soon landed on the large paw prints, a bit always from where Night would've been sitting. Night's foot prints followed the paws so he followed them as well, to an old camp site, well only about four-five days old by the looks.

From the camp it seemed Night returned home on his own so Dream decided to retrace his steps. Humming as he walked back to the boulder he finally turned to follow his brothers frantic and running steps backwards.

The walk there was rather long and quiet, whatever scared his brother must of been truly terrifying.

He paused.

The smell of rot hung over in the air and Dream gagged internally though he continued walking, thinking it was just a dead animal nearby.

Oh...

How naive...

Dream's entire body froze at the sight, his entire body frozen, the only part of his body moving was his hand being brought to cover his mouth and nose.

His mind went frantic and his first thought was to run but he stopped himself and assessed the situation. The rotten corpse laying on the ground and covered in maggots had... most likely been murdered.

Dream looked around, seeing a few small divots in the ground. Night had surely been here, the imprint of his crown was even in the ground.

The more he looked at it the more he disliked it.

He started at the beginning, the two seem to have come from the village, the human boy shoving Night into the woods and Night seeming to comply until a certain point. Why was he so compliant until that point? Had the boy said something?

It was until Dream eyes landed on a dirt patch where very obvious prints laid.

This boy had pinned his brother to the ground. Dream felt his soul race as the entire thing ran through his mind.

This couldn't have been something serious... could it? Dream whimpered to himself, it looks like some sort of weird beating or worse. But Night didn't seem upset when he came back... Dream's mind halted at the sudden realization, his eyes widening. Oh Nighty... how long have you been going through this?

Dream's feet took off from underneath him in a frantic run, he needed to find Night. His eyes glanced over everything in the forest, his soul beating loudly in his non-existent ears.

The sudden sight of something black on the ground caught his attention and his body came to abrupt stop. Dream knew what that was and he refused to believe it. That black goop only belonged to two asshats, whom he hated both with a passion.

"Night?!" He called out in hope that his brother was safe.

"Night I know your mad at me but now's not the time to play tricks!" Dream yelled louder, his voice breaking as tears threaten to spill.

Soon enough the yellow tears began falling down his face, "Look, I'm sorry! Just come home!"

Silence...

Sobs rattled through the normally positive skeleton, tears flowing out out of his sockets like a waterfall. "Please... just be okay..."

Dream moved on, refusing to believe that his beloved brother was with that bastard or the other.

-~*~-

"Mmm..."

The two friends stopped their conversation, turning their attention to the sleepy skeleton wrapped up tightly in a blanket.

"Mare... where are we?"

Mare chuckled softly at how sleepy the smaller was, "We're at my place."

Night only nodded, snuggling back into the warmth of the blanket."

"My my," Error chuckled, "you seem comfy."

"S'warm..." Night spoke tiredly, "I've never been in something so warm."

Mare and Error both frowned at that statement.

((Hahah angst machine go brrrrr))
