It was common knowledge the Blue is one of the most friendliest skeletons in the multiverse, having befriend most of the bad Sans and even managing to befriend the more wilder Sanses- his greatest feat having been able to get Hate to high five him.

But Blue did have a thing against Mare. Unlike the others, Mare only showed mercy when it gave him advantages, especially when it came to battle. When it came to Mare, Blue saw an enemy, someone manipulative and controlling, but that wasn't true.

Not in the slightest.

In fact Mare was quite the opposite when it came to his subordinates, still bossy from time to time but he considered them family. He was caring, often offering the a shoulder to cry on or small words of wisdom, something he was never given when he was younger.

Now that he had Night, those actions proved to be more public now. Especially now that Mare was face to face with Blue on his front door step, a scowl on his face but an almost worried and hurt look in his eye.

Blue felt conflicted at the sight of Mare like this. With one single glance he was able to read Mare like an open book, especially with the way he was gripping the crown in his hand oh so tightly.

Mare finally spoke after a long moment of silence. "Where is he?"

Blue was a bit taken aback by the question, "Who.."

Mare cut him off instantly, "Night, where is Night?"

Blue jumped at that, "He's resting..."

Mare jolted at that, gripping the crown harder before practically seizing Blue, grabbing him by his bandanna. "Where?"

Blue yelped at the sudden gesture, "Inside."

"What happened?" Blue notice the way Mare's eye shook in his socket, almost like he was frightened.

Blue winced nonetheless, "He had a panic attack, Lust says he might've had a major one by the looks of it."

Mare let him go shakily, "Let me see him."

Blue jumped a bit, "You want to see him?"

"The fuck did I just say you blueberry dumbass! Let me see him."

Blue flinched but bowed his head in defeat, "Alright, just... be careful with him."

Mare only huffed at that but waited for Blue to open the door before shoving his way past him. His eye landed on Night, who was curled up in blankets and snuggling with pillows.

The sight of him made Mare melt with overwhelming relief, so much so that he felt like crying but he didn't. He had to be there for Night, he couldn't break down now. Instead, he pushed through a small smile and sat next to the pile, placing Night's crown next to him.

Mare's hand brushed Night's cheek ghostly, his smile turning into a frown. "Oh Puppy... my poor sweet Puppy... I should've killed the bastard that did this to you, I only didn't for you. I wanted to give you a chance to decide what happens."

Blue stayed quiet but neared towards the two, eyes softening at Mare's somehow sweet words, "Does... Does Night mean something to you?"

Mare didn't respond, instead continuing to speak to Night with a gentle tone. "I scared him though, the villagers know of what he did to you Puppy. Dream knows, he's upset, maybe more than."

Mare went silent yet again, pulling his hand away. Blue perked at that before glancing upstairs, seeing Lust standing at the top of them, eyes on Mare in surprise.

He watched Lust walk downstairs to join his side. It was a hushed whisper but Blue heard it loud and clear, "Why's he here?"

Blue smiled a bit but responded, "He's involved with Night."

Lust perked up, "Oh?"

Blue nodded.

They both brightened when they saw Mare perk up with an excited smile on his face. "Good morning Puppy."

Night blinked up at Mare with surprise, sitting up slowly and rubbing his sockets in disbelief. "M..Mare?"

Mare tilted his head, "Are you that surprised to see me?"

Night didn't say another word, he let his actions do the talking.

He lunged at Mare, wrapping his arms around his neck tightly. Mare jolted at that but when he felt Night hiccup a sob he hugged him close, one hand on his back and the other on his head.

Mare buried his face into Night's neck without a second thought, nuzzling him gently. Night didn't cry but he let out a few dry sobs, holding onto Mare like a life line. How could he not? He was more attached to Mare than anyone else.

It sounded odd to him, being closer to a person he met only a bit more than two weeks ago than his own brother. Such a funny thing really...

Night snuggled against Mare, leaning into him as much as he could. Mare made no move other than allowing his tendrils to return, letting the appendages curl around the both of them like a vale of vines that twist and turn around the trunk of tree.

Night almost let out a purr, enjoying the sweet affection that was being given to him. Mare enjoyed it to, reveling in the soft tough of Night, but when Night pulled away he almost whined at the lost.

Night smiled at his saddened face, cupping his cheeks gently with a smile. "Kitty, you missed me?"

Mare chuckled softly, placing his hand on Night's before leaning into it causing the other blush lightly. "You missed me too... or did you just forget about that hug you gave me?"

Night blushed darkly and huffed in embarrassment, "I didn't forget... I just... I.."

Mare chuckled, "Don't get worked up Puppy, I'm just playing."

Night huffed once again, this time crossing his arms and puffing out his cheeks.

Mare tilted his head playfully, "Nighty, before I forget, I have something for you." Mare cooed, snagging Night's crown off the floor with a smile.

Night tilted his head before perking at the feeling of something being set atop his head. Slowly he raised his hands to feel it and brightened in sudden happiness. "My crown! Mare! It's my crown!"

Mare chuckled happily at his excitement, smiling as Night continued to fawn over his crown happily before giving Mare a kiss on the cheek, taking the taller by surprise.

Mare's face burst into blush and he looked away causing Night to finally realize his actions and blush as well. "I umm... sorry."

Mare smiled a bit but other than that, said nothing.
