NIGHTMARES AND STRAINED INTER PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS ALONGSIDE A HIT TO OVERWORK.
HERThe following month was as hectic as always at work, but the two had taken it on themselves to apply for the handful of possible fellowships and were busying themselves and burning up all of their free time by collecting all the documents they needed for applying for their fellowships and for their travel visas as well. It was a hassle that didn't seem anywhere close to ending.
Though times were dark the stars still shone and the two were surely much more at ease because they had each other alongside them through each and every step.
Suddenly one morning during work Zen's phone buzzed and she had to put it on silent since the caller seemed persistent. She and Leah were currently in another department on our rotation and she told her to take the call and that she would cover. The head of this department wasn't like the other one so she left, thanking her.
The moment Zen did check her phone she was in for a shock. She had over thirty calls and twice the number of text messages.
She knew it wouldn't be her mom, since though she was the kind to get persistent she did happen to know Leah's number too and that we did work together.
It was the last person she had expected, but it was Aiza. She hadn't been in touch like they used to be in the beginning. Busy lives had drawn them apart. They still did check on each other once in a while so this had her confused.
Zen called her back and immediately got her shy and small voice replying.
"I'm sowwy... yo-you were at work..."
"Breathe... it's okay... tell me..."
"N-no... nothing much... I... Just managed to collect enough for tickets to Korea-"
"You don't have to hide it... I know you're excited..."
She took a moment before she ended up squealing making Zen chuckle.
"Cute... you actually had been looking at prices too, huh?"
"Y-yeah...!"
She smiled at how cute she was being.
"You do know that there's stay and visa and all that to pa-"
She cut herself off, facepalming at how she had to be straightforward right then. She knew Azia was more of a softie though she was still older.
"O-oh yeah...."
"I'm sorry... didn't mean to kill your spirits... I just hate it when I-"
"Stop... it's fine... and you did just say a fact... just...
Don't keep apologising... I hate it...""Ah- s- o-okay-..."
