Life was pretty good at the moment.
The days with Addison flew by quickly, and soon the days turned into weeks of seeing each other at school, being with each other during lunch, and supporting her at her practices and games. Ever once in a while we were lucky enough to sneak away to our little hide-out, or maybe have a few hours to ourselves as she lied to her parents about being at Blaire's or June's house.
It wasn't exactly ideal, but it worked for the moment. We still haven't made anything official, but everybody at the school just kinda assumed we were a couple. After the first week of constantly being with each other and holding hands in the hallway, I heard the rumors instantly.
Most of them were mainly based on shock for the fact that I was sticking around Addison instead of just hooking up then ditching her. I've heard a few saying that I was doing it for a bet, which I'm pretty sure Cierra was the one that circulated that one. However, I grinned to myself in the hallway when I heard a few rumors pertaining to how jealous they were about me being with Addison.
Apparently, Addison had a reputation for being absolutely oblivious to other people's advances. One day in lab, I overheard two guys talk about how they attempted to flirt with Addison, but instead it ended up in her completely ignoring the conversation because apparently she became fixated on a monarch butterfly that flew away. The other guy lamented about how he saw her picking up some drinks at a coffee shop, and he offered to pay for her drinks, but instead she left in a panic because something about missing an episode of Fresh Off The Boat.
I remember laughing to myself and almost spilling the acid I was measuring on the lab table. All of those stories definitely sounded like Addison.
And then there were the stories about how it was almost impossible even approaching Addison if she was with June or Blaire. For some reason, her two friends protected her like she was an innocent little kid, so they gladly bitched out or threatened to kill (June) anyone that had more than friendly intentions with the black-haired girl.
And of course, Addison was oblivious to everything, and I was the luckiest person to be with her.
Even though technically we weren't dating, we also still haven't had sex. After the day I took her to my secret enclosure, that was the last time Addison tried doing something. Sure, she always ended up whispering some kinky shit in my ear during class or in the hallway or would drop a comment between breaks in her tennis matches. However, she never initiated something further, and I respectfully waited until the perfect moment presented itself.
Addison still couldn't bring up the courage to ask her mom to have another sleepover at June's house. I didn't blame her, considering her parents stressed her out to the max. Sometimes, after practice, she would have to bring out the recordings of Blaire and June's voices just because her mom felt like randomly checking up on her. I knew the right time would come soon, and I knew she was nervous about the fact that every day we hung out with each other...we knew that we were slowly getting closer to making it official.
Which meant that Addison would eventually have to tell her parents.
However, she was still waiting on a few colleges to accept her and send their financial aid packages. So far, she's gotten a few full-ride scholarships in California, but unfortunately she hasn't gotten enough money for out-of-state schools. I received my acceptance letter at Michigan State, and I already submitted my enrollment deposit for next school year.
Addison told me that she actually applied to Michigan State as well. However, she only did because she thought she'd qualify for their scholarship program, and because she secretly wanted to go to their education program. Yet, for some reason, even after calls upon calls to the admission office, she still wasn't accepted or received any word about it at all.
