"You what?" Adrienne whispered harshly but silently as I rummaged through my locker. She was giving a shocked and concerned look as I finally found my math book and shoved it into my backpack.
I slung it over my shoulder, "We didn't."
She kept looking at me warily, "She put her fingers in your mouth."
I bit the bottom of my lip and tried to not think about that part. "She did...but, we didn't go farther. She had to go home."
Adrienne shut my locker for me as she was still in disbelief, "What do you mean you didn't go farther? That's pretty fucking far if she sticks her fingers inside her then inside your mouth as she's talking to her mom on the phone." She had a point.
I shrugged, "And then we were interrupted. So, we didn't take things further."
We started to walk to class side by side as she shook her head. I watched her and it seemed like she still has having a hard time taking in all the information I was giving her. From the tennis court chat - to the car - to the restaurant - and finally to what we did, or what we were going to do in my truck. "And you're saying Addison Cruz did all that?"
"Yeah."
"And you're going to do it again?" She said with raised eyebrows, which I knew was hinting at my hook-up rule.
Abrasively, I said, "We're not doing it again, we're simply rescheduling. We didn't do anything before, so it's not another repeat hookup."
She still gave me a sly look as we continued walking, "But, you're seeing her again."
I chewed on the inside of my lip, "Well, yes."
She raised an eyebrow then opened her mouth to tease, but simply moved it into a silent smirk. I rolled my eyes then gave her a playful shove.
Adrienne wasn't exactly wrong. There was a certain part of me that was wondering why the hell I decided to "reschedule." Was it the chase? Was it the fact that this girl made my head spin?
Did she make it spin in a good or bad way though?
Last night I was completely expecting her to text me, but the text never came. Embarrassingly, I was finishing up some college applications while glancing at my phone for an unknown notification to pop up any moment.
But, it never came. I couldn't help but feel disappointed, but also I was a little relieved - too much happened in one day and I was still processing what happened.
I froze, then gave Adrienne a hesitant look as we finally stopped at my class before she had to run off to hers. "You're not going to tell June, right?" I put my hand on my neck as if I could already feel the switchblade she was going to use on it once she heard about this.
The dark-haired girl shook her head and smiled, "No, that's definitely for Addison to tell. I'm not getting secondhand abuse from telling her."
I smiled back, "It might be good secondhand abuse from her to you?"
She scoffed, "Yeah, right. You think me telling her, 'Melanie almost fucked Addison after we hung out yesterday' would make her want to sleep with me? That's basically a death sentence right there." We both laughed, then she glanced at her phone. "I have to go, see you, Mel."
"See you Adrienne," I mumbled as I entered Mrs. Shaw's classroom. I took my seat and started to pull all my stuff out. I looked at the front of the room and realized that Mrs. Shaw wasn't at her desk yet, meaning there was still a couple minutes before the bell rang. That was fine though, and I was definitely happy that she decided to raise my grade slightly from the extra credit we had yesterday.
