Chapter 9

Ria's POV

We talked, laughed, sang, throwing banters at each other before calling it a night.

I'm now in my room, facing my laptop. Uno emailed me, inviting me for a dinner date. I really don't know what to reply. Not that I don't like him, next week na kasi ang vacation namin. And I don't have time to have dates. Pero kasi, they all said that I should give him a chance.

I should call Lory.

Lory's POV

Kakatapos ko lang maligo. I went to my side table when I heard my phone rang. Ria as I read the calling ID.

"Hey" I said as I answered the call.

{Naistorbo ba kita?}

"Hindi naman, kakagaling ko lang sa shower. Napatawag ka?"

{Hindi kasi ako maka tulog eh}

Ni-loud speaker ko ito at inilagay sa side table ko. Para maririnig ko pa rin ang sasabihin niya habang nagbibihis ako.

"What's on your mind?"

{Facebook, ikaw ba yan?} she said and let out a small chuckle.

I laughed and said "Ano nga? Share mo na mga thoughts mo sa akin. Kanina ko pa napapansin na ang lalim ng iniisip mo eh."

I heard her heaved a deep breath.

{Uno emailed me. Gusto niya talaga makipag Dinner sa akin. I don't know what to reply. Hindi naman sa ayoko pero kasi next week na bakasyon natin. Need ko magovertime sa shop so wala talaga akong time sa mga date-date na iyan.} she said

"You don't need to over time naman eh. Ate Pops can do it, trust her. You can leave it to her, she can handle it. Si ate Pops pa? Pagbigyan mo na si Uno. Kawawa naman yun eh, ang effort effort pala nun sayo. Kahit dinner date man lang, I'm sure malaking bagay na yun sakanya."

{Okay fine. Pero I want you to be there.}

"No thank you. Ayoko maging third party, tas mas maappreciate ni Uno kapag kayong dalawa lang." I answered and laid to my bed.

{Parang ang awkward naman nun.}

"Awkward at first pero you'll get used to it. Masasanay ka rin. Na awkward nga ako nung first meet ko sainyo eh. Look at me now? Mas makapal pa sa pader ang mukha ko."

I heard her laugh and it made me smile.

{Can we talk muna? Hanggang sa makatulog ako. I really can't sleep.}

"Sure. Do you want me to sing?"

{Yes please.}

For the past months na naging kaibigan ko si Ria. Ganito na talaga kami. When she can't sleep, she'll call me and ask me if I can sing her a song. Minsan nagchichikahan hanggang sa makatulog siya.

Kailangan ko'y ikaw
Dito sa buhay ko...
Paano na ang puso kong...
Nag-iisa...

Kailangan ko'y ikaw...

As I sang the last part of the song I heard her yawn.

"Inaantok ka na" I said. I waited for about 2 minutes and no one responded.

"Tulog na pala, good night my Ria. Sweet dreams" and ended the call.

After a few minutes I arrived at my dream land.
