I recently have accidentally read a rape fanfiction that was handled so poorly. I'm not going to get into it. But it was basically an 'it's rape but it's yaoi so that makes it good' fanfic.
I have to say the thing I hate the most in the Hetalia Fandom is the rape stories. Handling one appropriately would mean, NOT having the victim fall in love with the rapist. But instead, have the victim supported by their family and friends and doing proper therapy. And of course, the victim fully recovering. And if necessary, the revenge on the rapist.
None of the characters in Hetalia should be rapists (especially Russia and France).
But if you're going to write one, at least do it right. A good one that actually handles it well would be Bealtaine and Bealtaine: Vola by Salmagundi on Ao3. That fanfic made me cry multiple times.
Sorry about this rant, I just had to get this off my chest. Especially since this is a big thing that happens in the fandom.
