Unlike the other rants I have on this book, in this one, I'm more upset than angry or frustrated.
So I use different languages in my writing. I like to use a website called Quora that's kinda like Reddit. Usually, while I ask questions I put my profile on anonymous so that they don't know who's asking. Not because I'm asking weird things but because I'm just not comfortable.
When I ask for help, people are usually kind and explain farther, like the formal/informal or the group/single terms. But this time I just felt like I was being shamed for even asking. The person who replied started by saying -
'I'm not sure why people don't just use a dictionary on google for this sort of thing.'
They might have not might to be rude or something but it still felt negative to me. I don't use google because google translate is wrong sometimes and I want to get help from people who actually know the language. I just asked a question because I wanted to know, maybe it was because my profile wasn't being shown that they said this.
Later someone commented this -
'Question farming. They go through whole dictionaries in multiple languages to scrape a few pennies per question. I usually ignore them and often downvote or report their question.'
I slightly understand what they meant. But I don't go through whole distionaries in multiple languages. I don't even make money for asking questions. I just go and ask a question because most of the time people answer and inform me. Downvoting or reporting my question!? What if others just had question but got reported for "question farming". I just wanted to ask a question, that's all. If you don't wanna answer it or you're just tired of answering questions then don't reply.
Who knows, maybe I'm just crying over nothing. This kinda has discouraged me from asking questions on there, I might just use dictionaries instead. I find it nicer to learn from somebody who knows what they're doing instead of trying to figure out what's right to wrong by myself. Ehhh, I might just delete this later.
