Turn 24

By the time I had come out of the shower, having let Yusei shower first and alone, I could smell cooking wafting up the stairs. I dressed myself quickly in my usual clothes, and styled my as normal and headed into the kitchen, to find Crow, who looked a little uncomfortable to my great pleasure, sat with Mina, Akiza and Trudge, at our makeshift dinning table, all rubbing their heads looking all a little worse for wear. Yusei was over by the cooker preparing everyone's breakfast, which for Mina, Akiza, Crow and Trudge was going to be Yusei's cure all hang overs breakfast special. It was basically a lot of greasy, fatty and absorbent foods, and he had developed a verson for every meal of the day. I noticed that Yusei had a huge smile on his face, that matched my own.

"Morning everyone." I said from the door way, causing Crow to flinch and the other three at the table to shush me because I'd announced myself too loudly. There were two seats left at the table, both next to each other, in a gap between Mina and Crow. I sat next to Crow.

"How come you and Yusei aren't hung over?" Akiza moaned with a grimace.

"Because we didn't hit the booze." Yusei explained coming over with the first rounds of breakfast.

"Why didn't you drink?" Mina asked with a pained scowl, regret clearly etched onto her face.

"Never developed a taste for it I guess." I shrugged as Yusei placed the remaining two large plates in front of Crow and Akiza, before returning to the sink to get four large glasses of water.

"I think you can have fun without getting drunk." Yusei agreed with me, me and Crow the only ones to realise that Yusei was refurring to last night, I looked at the ceiling to hide my blush, "The coffee will be ready in a minute, Jack, but would you like some french toast, seeing as you don't need my hang over cure?"

"Thanks Yusei, I would love some." I answered. Crow couldn't hold back a snicker, that went unnoticed by the others. I glared at him, which made his snickering worse. 

"Ouch!" Crow exclaimed, then winced with other three drunkards, "What was that for?"

"You know I don't like it when people laugh at things I say." I growled, as Yusei began walking over with two plates of french toast, putting them down and going to get the hot drinks he'd made for the both of us, before sitting down next me. Shame I couldn't kiss him right now.

"So Yusei, if you don't drink alcohol," Trudge began, about half way through his breakfast, "then how did you make this hang over cure? More to the point, why?"

"I developed it because after Crow hit 20 he began over celebrating our team's victories, and I can't not help a friend." Yusei explained, between mouth fulls of toast, which I knew he had cooked perfectly, "So I looked up what went into good hang over cures, and last year when we won our second WRGP tried it out on Crow. It worked. The key is to eat the foods that will soak up the alcohol in your system, that's why bar's serve peanut's and crisps."

"That's our Yusei," Akiza cooed, giving Yusei an affectionate look that I struggled not to be pissed off about, "always willing and prepared to help others." I focused on my food so no one would notice my jealous scowl. Yes, I was jealous. Jealous because Akiza could be outwardly affectionate towards Yusei, in public and I couldn't. I took a breath to calm myself, aware that Yusei was looking at me out of the corner of his eyes. We had agreed, through the bathroom door, while he was showering, that we would tell the others when were ready, which we both weren't. Of course if we got caught again we had also agreed to tell everyone because we knew that the twins, Mina, Carly and Akiza had very loose lips when it came to this kind of information.

"Thanks Akiza," Yusei answered looking at her face and clearly deducing what had made me look at my plate with such interest, "it's just how I am. Also, could you stop looking at me like that?"
