Year 1- Chapter 1-First Steps

A/n I am not a professional writer. I also know that some of this story wasn't based on events in the films but like the description says this is how I would have liked my time at Hogwarts to go

Chapter 1

I guess I really should start from the very beginning.

Hi I'm Lindsey,I was born into a world only kids could imagine about, yes I'm a witch, my dads a wizard and studied at the best wizardry school in The world HOGWARTS. My mum on the other hand she's just a plain old teacher in the muggle world! That makes me half-blood which I guess I'm happy about.

Since I was little me and my best friends Regan have dreamt about going to Hogwarts and following in our parents footsteps. You see Regan's Pure blood which means both her parents are from the wizarding world! This never stopped us being best friends though! The day we had been looking forward to came when on our 11th birthdays we received that magical letter, our acceptance letters. We had smiles on our faces for days and even bigger smiles when we was walking down Diagon alley buying all our supplies for first year at Hogwarts. The list was endless of things we needed:

First-year students will require:
Uniform
Three Sets of Plain Work Robes (Black)
One Plain Pointed Hat (Black) for day wear
One Pair of Protective Gloves (dragon hide or similar)
One Winter Cloak (Black, silver fastenings)
Please note that all student's clothes should carry name-tags at all times.

1 Wand
1 Cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
1 set of glass or crystal phials
1 telescope
1 set of brass scales
Students may also bring an Owl, a Cat or a Toad.

So much to take in but we managed to get everything on the list even our trusty pets that would be there during our whole time at Hogwarts. I opted for a snowy owl called Star and Regan went for a tabby brown cat called Puff. He has the most amazing bright blue eyes. Anyway you'll learn more about us and our pets the more involved in our story you get.

A few days after we had been down Diagon Alley buying our supplies Regan and I found ourself standing in platform 9 3/4 waiting for our luggage to be loaded on the Hogwarts Express. We said our goodbye to our parents and boarded trying to find an empty carriage which didn't take us long. We had settled down and started talking about what we was most looking forward too and which house we was hoping to be sorted in secretly I was hoping for Gryffindor so was Regan but I know my parent would prefer I was in Hufflepuff because that's the house my dad was is. "So what lessons are you most looking forward to this year?" Regan had asked me " I think Herbology or transfiguration, what about you?" " Well I'd have to say mine would be transfigurations class as well" We was then interrupted by a short white slicked back haired boy opening the carriage door both Regan and I snapped our heads toward the noise finding this boy scolding at us. "Are you going to come in and sit down or just stare at us" I said to him. " why would I want to sit with a filthy first year like you" he retorted back. I laughed " if I'm not mistaken by your robes your a first year too" with that he slammed the door shut and walked away.

"Causing trouble already I see Lindsey" Regan said, I simply looked at her shrugged my shoulders and smiled. By this point the train had set off to our new home for the next 7 years excluding holidays. The train ride was a long one I timed it to be about 7 hours, it was ok though we had a laugh and ate our body weight in sweets and chocolates.
