Chapter 17- Goodbye Tom Riddle

Part 2 of the chamber chapter. Not long left until the end of year 2.

The beast slowly feel limp to the ground which indicated that Harry had defeated it, I some how can't imagine that this is it though, something else is going to happen. I looked at Tom whose face held an angry look, I then looked towards Harry who was limping and in pain from the basilisk vemon in his arm. "It's amazing how quickly the Basilisk vemon penetrates the body, I guess you have more then a minute to live and you'll be with your mudblood mother in no time", Tom said to Harry, he reached towards the hands of Ginny, "funny how much damage a book can cause especially in the hand of a silly little girl" I reached down and grabbed the book from Ginny's arm, opening it up and grabbing the Basilisk tooth that was in Harry arm holding it up, Tom asked me what I was doing and a scared look arising on his face, I slammed my hand down much to his protest into the diary, causing ink to escape from the page. A bright white light came bursting out Voldemort's Stomach causing him to yell out in pain, he tried to lunge towards me but I held my hand up and slammed down in the diary again having the same effects. He was dying and dissapearing, I closed the diary and did the same thing this time Lord Voldemort or Tom Riddle bursting and Vanishing. I was brought out my trance of starring at where Tom was a matter of seconds ago when Ginny gasped with air. She slowly sat up and looked around, a faint Ginny could be heard from Harry's mouth, she turns around to face us "Harry, Lindsey it was me, but I swear I didn't mean to, Riddle made me, Harry your hurt" Harry replied "don't worry, Ginny you have to get yourself out, go with Lindsey follow the chamber and you'll find Ron" again a sqeak from Fawkes was heard, it headed towards Harry after landing, such a cute bird, anyway, "you was brillant Fawkes I just wasnt quick enough" Harry said, Fawkes leant forward and towards Harry's wound to shed a tear over it and the wound was gone just like that "of course, why didn't I remember, Pheonix tears have healing powers"Harry thanked the bird. He looked at me and Ginny and said "don't worry, it's over, it's just a memory" The three of us made our way back to Ron and Lockhart, a small reunion hug between Harry, Ron, Ginny and I before Fawkes carried the 5 of us back up to the floor level of Hogwarts.

We unfortunatly did get caught after we took Ginny to the hospital wing to get checked out, we of course was sent to Professor Dumbledore's office. We was about to be in so much trouble but it's worth it. Stood by his desk with our heads hung low Dumbledore began "You three realize of course that in the last few hours you have broken perhaps a dozen school rules,and there are sufficient evidence to have you all expelled." we all agreed that we understood, he continued "therefore it is only fitting that you all receive special awards for services to the school" We looked at each other and back towards Dumbledore before saying thank you time him for the great honour.He picked up some letters and walked towards Ron where he asked him to have an owl deliver them to Azkaban for the release of Hagrid. Ron walked out leaving just Harry and I, Dumbledore turned around to look at us before start his speech with "Harry, Lindsey, First I want to thank you,you must have shown me real loyalty down in the chamber, nothing but that could of called Fawkes to you, I also sense something is bothering you Harry am I right?" Harry repsonded with "it's just I couldn't help but see certain similarities between Tom Riddle and me", "Well you can speak Parseltongue Harry why, because Lord Voldemort can speak Parseltongue too, if I'm not mistaken he transferred some of his powers to you the night he gave you that scar, not intentionally of course,but yes." Dumbledore explained, Harrys eyes went wide "so the sorting hat was right I should be in Slytherin?" I don't really feel like I should really be in this conversation but I stayed anyway, Dumbledore conintued "It's true Harry you possess many of the qualities that Voldemort himself prizes, determination, resourcefulness and if I may say so a certain disregard for the rules, why then did the hat place you in Gryffindor?", Harry answered "because I asked to be" "exactly, exactly which makes you different from Voldemort, it's not our abilities who show who we really are but our choices, if you want proof as to why you are in Gryffindor I suggest you look at this" he pick up the sword that Harry used to defeat the basilisk. We both looked at the sword to see the words Godric Gryffindor engraved on the side of it. Dumbledore informed us that it takes a true Gryffindor to pull it out of the hat.We was soon interupted my Lucius Malfo, I really don't like him, he has no regard to anyone or the welfare of the school even though he claimed otherwise, he asks Dumbledore "I presume the culprit has been identified?" Dumbldore responded "oh yes", Lucius in his stuck up voice asked back "well who was it" and was shocked when it was revealed to be Voldemort.While they continued Dobby kept grabbing Harry's cloak clearly trying to tell him something. Lucuis and Dobby left the office for Harry to soon ask Dumbledore if he could have Tom Riddles Diary, what is he up too, I wonder. We was soon running after Mr Malfoy, we caught up with him "Mr Malfoy, I have something of yours" handing him the book, He of course claimed he didn't own the book to which I replied with "Oh but I think you do sir , I think you slipped into Ginny Weasleys Couldron that day in Diagon Alley in the bookstore?" He sharply looked at me and said "you do, do you?" he then handed the book to Dobby and stepped close to me and said in my face "why don't you prove it?" he went to walk away when Harry wispered to Dobby "Open it" to which he did to reveal a long gray sock in it, Malfoy hurried Dobby along "master has given Dobby a sock" Mr Malfoy turned around confused until he saw the sock in the book Dobby continued " Master has presented Dobby with clothes, Dobby is free" He was so happy, I'm glad we got to free him, Malfoy looked at us only to have Harry pull up his trouser leg and reveal a bare ankle where they sock was prevously. He was now very angry " YOU LOST ME MY SERVANT" he grabbed his wand from out the top of his cane and rushed towards us pointing at us, but before he cast a spell Dobby Stepped infront ofus protecting us and sending him flying backwards. Dobby turned around and thanked Harry for freeing him from Lucius.

By the time we actually got back to our room and cleaned up it was already early morning, luckily enough for us Dumbledore excused us from lessons so we could rest up and get our strength back. It was about mid day when I woke from my slumber, I showered again, getting into my clean set of robes as I would need to wear them for this evening meal as it's the last feast of the year before the end of exams and the end of term.

We was sitting at are respected table chatting away talking about recent events and catching up on those that were petrified.Harry Ron and I was sottinf there lauging away when Neville shouted for our attention, he informs us that Hermione and Regan where standing the in the entrance of the great hall, all our heads turned towards that direction to see them standing there talking between themsleves. They spotted us looking and smiled before we jumped up and started running to them, I of course ran straight to Regan engolfing her in a massive hug nearly knocking her over in the process, I was so happy to have her back and safe. I swithed over and hugged Hermione while Regan hugged Ron and Harry. I stood back infront of my best friend tears in my eyes and said to her "I'm so happy you are fine, I was so worried and scared. I hated not having you around, Promise you'll never leave me again, Love you" She reached forward pulling me into another bone crushing hug while wispering in my ear "I Promise, as long as you Promise too, Love you too, there is so much you have to catch me up on, like exactly how did you defeat the beast, how you got out injury free also tell me more about this Cedric guy" I looked at her and laughed, "those are stories for later, lets celebrate you guys being back and the end of another year shall we." Hermione,Harry and Ron has already taken thier seat and just as I was about to walk away Regan grabbed my hand and placed something in it, I opened my had to reveal my bracelet I left for her before when went down the Chamber "You'll be needing this back" Laughing away we walked to the table and sat down. Just as we sat down Dumbledore stood up and started his speech "before we begin the feast,let us have a round of applause for Professor Sprout, Madam Pomfrey whose Mandrake juice has been so successfully administered to all who had been petrified" ,the hall erupted with appluase. Dumbledore continued once the noise died down, "also in light of recent event as a school treat all exams have been cancelled" He sat back down during another round of clapping and cheering, it was soon brought to an end when the Great hall doors opened to reveal Hagrid, He made his was down he hall until he reached where we was sitting, "I'll just like say that if it hadn't been for you Harry,Ron,Lindsey and Hermione and Regan of course, I would I'd still be you know where so thanks." Harry didn't waste anything in standing up from his seast and giving Hagrid a hug telling his that there is no Hogwarts without him, Slowly the hall started stading up clapping and cheering for Hagrid.

So that's it another year over and it was time for us to pack up and head to the station for the long 7 hour journey home for a few months before year 3. It's definitely been a weird one but one I'll never forget for many reasons, my best friends was petrified, I meet a boy which thinking about I haven't seen since that day in the Library but I guess I have been busy fighting a beast. Hagrid got sent to Azkaban and Dumbledore was suspended. It's been a hectic year. During the journey home we filled Hermione and Regan in on all the event that happened while they was out and it took up most of the journey. I needed the toilet about 5 hours in, so headed out the carriage towards the toilet which were situated next to the Slytherin block of carriages.Just as I reached the toilets, Draco was coming out them, he stopped and looked at me with sympathetic look in his eyes he came closer to me and said "I'm sorry that you had to go through what you did with Regan and everything and I'm sorry I never came to find you it's just everytime I saw you, you was with someone and you know how it is..." I cut him off "you can't been seen with a blood traitor like me, I get it, I appritiate this but if you don't mind I really need to pee" I pushed past him and just as I was about to shut the door, I looked up and our eyes meet, I showed him a small smile which I'm sure he actually returned. I must of been seeing things.
