"yo, hoseok! over here!"
i grinned, making my way over to my table with my friends. i always sat with them at lunch, at our usually lunch table in the front. the only thing different this time was that saerin and her friends joined us. i didn't really mind her hanging out with us, i just hated that all of my friends were staring me down to see if i'd make a move on her.
i never used to look in your direction, or even think about what you were doing. sometimes i did, but all you did during lunch was sit alone and listen to music. you'd eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich you made with the last slices of stale bread and blast music through your old, cheap earbuds.
jimin's gaze drifted off, causing me to watch where he was looking. he was looking towards you, watching as you scribbed words on your homework sheet. ryujin and her new friends passed by you, snickering at you from time to time. you looked up at them, only making them snicker even more. they walked back to their table, ryujin purposely flirting with her boyfriend right in front of you.
i watched as you stared at them for a bit before going back to your work, that same old, bored expression on your face.
ever since your ex dumped you for ryujin, you never really had any friend after that. i never really knew why - simply because i never really cared. someone told me it was because she started spreading rumors about you. you didn't do anything to stop it though, because at the end of the day, no one would've have listened to you.
i wish i had listened to you.
