Ch 1

-Sabrina's Pov

It was the first day of school back from winter break, and I wasn't looking forward to it.

I checked my phone, 6:00am.

I groaned in disappointment and slithered out of bed, heading to my closet to pick out an outfit for the day.

I picked out a red and black flannel along with a band shirt, a light pair of ripped jeans and my old black combat boots.

I put my hair in a loose messy bun and applied my make up.

I took one last look at myself in the mirror then grabbed my bag and headed down stairs.

"Hey Bri" my sister said as she munched on her lucky charms

"Hey Jess" I gave her a side smile as I examined the room for my mom.

She wasn't anywhere to be seen, and she wasn't in her room, so im guessing she must be at work already.

"She's gone" Jessica gave me a side smile, knowing I always look for her in the morning

I sighed and gave her a head nod.

"You ready?" I ask

"Yup, let's go" she said as she set her bowl in the sink and grabbed her car keys

Jessica parked the car at the student parking lot and we got out and went our own ways.

I went with 4 of my closest friends that were standing by the lockers.

Cynthia, Rylie, Andrew and Conner.

We stood around making small talk while we listened to music

"So what did you do over break?" Andrew smiled

"Nothing" I rolled my eyes,"I was alone the whole time."

"What about your mom?","Where was she?" Conner furrowed his eyebrows

Conner always worried about me. He always comes over when I'm alone and brings over some weed or something to tie us over. As well as the others, but mostly Conner.

"Gone. Like always" I mutter, looking down at the ground

They all sighed and nodded, and before anyone could say anything else the bell rang signaling us to go to class.

We all looked at each other in silence and continued talking.

"Yup, for a second there I thought we were going to go to class...on time." Cynthia giggled causing us all to join in

About 20 minutes later we decided to go ahead and go to class. We hugged each other goodbye and I ran to my locker for my penny board and skated to class.

I barged in the classroom and all eyes were on me.

"Already starting your daily routine of being late Marie?" Mr. Cortez glares at me in disappointment.

He always called me by my last name, it was annoying.

I give him a sarcastic smile and made my way to my seat next to my friend Arlene.

"Um, no. I don't think so.","I'm changing your seat next to Mr. Mendes, he's a better influence for you." He folds his arms

I roll my eyes and groan as I flop down on the seat next to Shawn. The know it all good boy.

He smiles at me and I give him a side smile as I plug in my earphones.

He looks away awkwardly and i try to pay no attention to him.

Ya, he's cute, and nice, but he's really not my type.
