Prologue

When life gives you lemons, squeeze it and add vodka.

That's a funny saying, although it was nice and serious in every means of understanding it.

Bakit nga ba napaka complicated ng buhay?

Or is it simple and we humans, are the ones who's making it complicated?

Ang gulo.

Just like the scene in front of me. Maingay, magulo, may nagsasayahan, may nagse-senti, may nang go-good time, some are even looking for a person to take home tonight.

Me? I'm doing neither of those. I'm here because I was told to come here.

Nang nag-iisang babae na gumulantang sa mundo ko. I was having my sweet time with my life, and she came barging in making my whole world upside down.

Ewan ko ba, pero ganon 'yung dating eh.

"Hey! Come and dance with me!" Sigaw niya dahil sa lakas ng tugtog. Hindi ito bar, it's a beach party, may bar counter na sinet up and stage for the DJ.

"No! Ibabalik na kita sa room mo!" Sigaw ko pabalik. But she didn't listen and just grinned at me. She seductively looked at me, which made me surprised kasi sa pagkakakilala ko sakanya, isa siyang inosente.

Umiling ito and she gestured me to come to her by using her index finger.

This is such a drag!

Hindi ako kumilos at hinayaan lang siya. She pouted when I didn't heed to her, she just ignored me and dance.

Umindayog ang katawan nito na tila sumasabay sa beat ng tugtog. She swayed and when she sexily bend her body almost everyone looked at her. Pero hindi niya ito pinansin, bagkus nakatingin lang siya sa'kin.

That was sexy! So damn sexy!

I gulped an imaginary lump in my throat.

'Yung ibang guest, nakikipagsayaw na sa kanya. When a guy tried to touch her, I stepped in hinila siya papalapit sa'kin.

"Taegan! Dance with me." She wrapped her arms on my neck and whispered those words. Naramdaman ko ang mainit niyang hininga sa tenga ko, which made me shiver.

"Let's go."

"No! I don't wanna!"

"Xeah! Come on, I'll be damned if I let you out here!"

"Why? Dahil ba kaibigan ako ng amo mo? Or simply because you care for me?"

Napatigil ako sa sinabi niya.

She just looked at me dead in the eye. Nakainom siya pero I think tinatamaan na siya. She was drinking earlier pa naman, mukhang naparami din.

"Let's just go."

"No! Kasalanan mo kasi 'to eh! Kung hindi sana maganda 'yang peste mong ngiti, hindi sana ako nadala! Kung hindi ka sana masyadong over protective, sana hindi ako umasa! You're so nice and I hate you for that!"

Lasing na 'to. Kung ano ano na kasing pinagsasabi.

"Tara na Xeah!"

Hinila ko na ito papalayo sa maingay na dalampasigan. Hindi pa naman kami nakakalayo ay tumigil na naman ito.

"Tell me Taegan, ano bang kulang sa'kin? Bakit kung anong gawin ko, hindi mo ako napapansin?! Palagi nalang si Leah ang bida sa mga mata mo! Nandito naman ako, second leads always got hurt in the process. Peste 'yan!"

Kung alam mo lang. Pero ayokong kausapin at patulan siya dahil lasing siya. She'll just end up forgetting this tomorrow.

"Antok na antok na ako Xeah, come on! Balik na tayo sa room mo!"
