Beep. Beep. Beep. As I roll over on my side to hit the snooze button, I see the time. 7:30 a.m. ‘Right on time’, I think to myself. I slowly find the strength to drag myself out of bed, and make my way down the main stairs, wearing my hello kitty pyjamas and my big puppy dog slippers. When I get down stairs, I see breakfast on the table as usual. This morning I have scrambled eggs, toast, pancakes, French toast, fruit salad, and a big glass of freshly squeezed orange juice beside it. As I sit down and get ready to take my first bite of my delicious looking breakfast, my mom comes running down the stairs. “Heather, I will see you in 2 days. Your father and I will be attending a seminar this weekend. I will miss you like crazy, and honey, try to stay out of trouble. Hug, hug. Kiss, kiss.” And with that, she was gone. This is our normal routine, so I’m used to it. But it still kind of bugs me that our family is never together. No meals or vacations together. Whenever I go on vacation, it’s usually with my best friend in the entire world, Lauren, and my amazing boyfriend, Josh. With me being an only child, Lauren is like my sister. “That was excellent, Jacque. Thank you very much. I will see you when I get home. Bye” I say to Jacque, our personal chef, as I head back up the stairs to get ready for school. When I get to my room, I hit my iPod on, and let Katy Perry’s, ‘Last Friday Night’ blare through my speakers. Usually, on a good day, it takes me an hour to get ready, from the time I wake up. But for some reason, it feels like it’s taking me a generation deciding on an outfit. After a lot of debating, I finally decided on a pair of faded and ripped skinny jeans, a strapless coral shirt with a grey cardigan, and a pair of baby blue heels. I paired that with my grey, black and white Louis Vuitton large purse, new tiffany and co. charm bracelet, and curled my hair and tied it so half of it is up. Overall I would give this look an 8 out of 10, that’s pretty good, but I know I could have done better. I look at my clock after finishing my hair and makeup, and realize its 8:45 already! I quickly grab my blackberry and iPod off my shelf, and run down the stairs and hop in the backseat of the limo. Roger is already sitting in the front seat, keys in the ignition, reading the daily times newspaper. “Morning Heather”, said Roger. “Good morning Roger. Umm, pick me up at the café on main, ‘cause I’m going there with Josh after school.” I said as I reapplied my lip gloss. “Of course Miss Smith.” As I hop out of the car, I say some quick goodbyes to Roger, hold my head high, and walk towards the school, hoping to have another popular day.
