“Miss. Smith, late again?” said Mr. Fitz as I hurried into class. “Sorry, it won’t happen again.” I said, setting my bag on the desk. He rolled his eyes as he started writing on the board. English isn’t my favourite subject at school. Well let’s just be honest here, I don’t have a favourite subject. And getting back to the point, hence Mr. Fitz isn’t my favourite teacher either. During class, all I usually do is text Josh, who is in Biology, under the desk, and doodle in my notebook. But this class, I decide to do something different. I create a list of everything I need for my party. And considering Josh is the lead scorer of his team, I’m pretty sure I will end up throwing the party. This was my list:
Party List
1) Drinks: pop, water,
2) Chips, freezes, appetizers, snacks
3) Wacky spray
4) Balloons
5) Marshmallows, chocolate, gram crackers
“Miss. Smith, would you like to enlighten our minds and answer my question?” Mr. Fitz said as he glared at me. “Hugh?” I said, as my cheeks flushed red. “Please, can someone who, unlike Heather, was paying attention, please answer my question?” he asked, sounding more annoyed than usual. Bringggggggggggg. As I scurried out the door, avoiding Mr. Fitz, I saw josh, waiting for me at my locker. “Hey gorgeous!” he said as I hugged him. “After gym, do you want to walk to the café and maybe ditch math class?” I was busy ruffling through my bag, looking for my gym clothes. “Sure, but I might not be able to do gym class today” I said as I remembered that I had forgotten to grab my gym bag. “I forgot gym clothes.” “It’s fine; I have some extra shorts and a baggy shirt in my locker. You can just take those. And then we can head straight from there to the café.” He said grabbing my bag from my locker and shutting it for me. “True and thank-you.” I grabbed his hand, and we headed for his locker. “Heather!” Lauren yelled across the hall as Josh started to open his lock. “Hey girl! How’s it going?” I said as she got closer. “Good. Are we still on for lunch?” she asked, sounding more upset than usual. I turned to Josh as he handed me the clothes. “I will meet you at your car at about 12:15, because I have something to take care of.” I quickly kissed him on the cheek and Lauren and I were heading off to gym class. Me, still wondering what is so important that she has to tell me alone?
