“Heather, what’s going on?” Lauren said to me in the last minute of the game. “You haven’t said a word all half. Is something wrong between you and Josh?” she asked with concern in her voice. “No, it’s just I think Josh is too hard on himself.” I said grabbing my purse and heading to the stairs. I walked down the stairs and saw Josh come towards the stairs. “Josh! You scored 3 and you played great.” He pushed me out of the way and into the railing. I hit my arm really hard. “Ow!” I said, my eyes watering. Lauren grabbed me and started to walk out the doors. “Were not going to let the whole school see you cry after we won a big game.” She was right. I turned away from her and screamed with all my might, “Party at my house tonight!!” then I turned and strutted away. I walked to the car with Lauren. 'Heather, are you okay?” she asked grabbing my arm. “My arm really hurts, but how he treated me. I just can’t believe it. But that’s not going to bother me tonight because I’m going to have the best time at my party!” I said trying my best to smile. “If you’re sure. You know I’m always here for you.” She said giving me a hug. “Thanks.” I said. We loaded into the car and I pulled out my cell. I started a new message:
To: Josh
There’s a party at my house tonight. Come if you want.
From: Heather
I re-read it over and over, trying to see if I was too harsh. But I came to the conclusion that after what Josh did to me, he deserved it. I was planning to forget all about it and have a really good time. send.
