As I headed towards the doors of north ridge way high school, I spotted my friends under our usual tree just beside the bike racks. Lauren, Josh, Sarah, Matt, and Adam sat in a circle, each of them doing their own thing. Josh was playing with a lacrosse stick and ball, Lauren texting on her new blackberry, Sarah absorbed in this month’s issue of teen vogue, Matt listening to some music on his iPod, and Adam trying to finish all his homework from last night. “Hey guys, what’s up?” I said as I made my way over to sit next to Josh. “Did you hear Heather?! We are playing St. Anthony’s this Saturday, and we have our top defender back! Were totally going to wreck them!” said Josh as he high-fived Adam, who is also on the schools lacrosse team. I smiled, “You know what. You score me at least one goal tomorrow, and I will throw a party at my house for the entire grade since my parents are gone all weekend!” I said as I gave Josh a quick peck on the cheek. “Well then you better start cleaning because I’m planning on scoring 2 for you. That means I get to sleep over as well.” He said as the bell rang. We all packed up and headed to class. Just as I was walking up the stairs, Lauren came by and said, “Meet me at the bike racks at lunch. I need to talk to you.” And with that she was off. Leaving me on my own, to walk to the most dreaded class of the day. English.
