I drove until it was dark out. I drove and drove and drove with the radio full blast and my make-up smudged from my tears. I finally pulled over by the side of the road and pulled out my phone which hadn’t been checked in hours. 25 BBM’s, 14 text messages, and 9 missed calls. All from Josh, Adam, Lauren, Roger, and my mom. I ignored them all except Lauren’s. I called Lauren and asked her to meet me in front of the 7/11 on king street.
When I got there she was standing outside her car playing with the keys. I hopped out of the car and hugged her as the tears began again. She pulled back and looked at me. “Let’s drive back to your place and we can just chill and talk things out. Okay?” she asked. “No. there is no way I’m going home. No way in hell. We will get a hotel room and stay there.” I got in my car and started the engine and Lauren did the same. We arrived at the Marriott out of town a short while later. When we got there Adam was waiting at the doors. I rolled down my window. “What the hell are you doing here?” I asked rattled. I’ll explain when you get to our room. Its 222 meet you there.” Great I thought.
