“Finally!” I said to Lauren as the half-time buzzer went. I, not playing any sport what so ever, find watching sports really boring. The only time I pretend to care, is when Josh is involved, like today. “I’m going to go see Josh before he goes to the locker room.” I said as I walked to wards the stairs. I waited at the fence, because I couldn’t really hop it when I’m wearing heels. “Josh!” I yelled as he walked by. He hopped up on the fence so we were looking eye to eye. “You’re playing great!” I said as I fixed his hair. “No I’m not I am messing up everywhere I go.” He looked really upset. “You scored a goal! That’s great!” I said sounding as enthusiastic as I could. “Big deal. It’s one goal. I was hoping for 2 or 3.” He said as his face turned red. “Listen. I don’t know a lot about sports. Actually to be exact, I know next to nothing about sports! And to me, I am not noticing that you’re playing bad, because you’re not! All I am noticing is how hot you are when you are sweaty and in a lacrosse uniform. Plus that one goal is your ticket to sleepover!” I said as I kissed him. He laughed, “Thanks.” He tried to give me one last kiss when he pretty much fell backwards off the fence. I covered my mouth because I was so scared to look down. I looked down and saw the coach grabbing the back of his jersey. “Butler, what part of focus on the game don’t you understand?” he said. “You have real potential that college scouts look for and if you keep focusing on girls and not lacrosse, you won’t have a chance.” They both headed to the locker room. I headed to my seat, feeling really guilty for getting him in trouble. When the team came back out, Josh was starting. But before the ref dropped the ball, Josh didn’t look at me, like he usually does. He didn’t even give me a glance or anything. That could only mean one thing. He was serious about what had happened with the coach and he was going to prove it this half.
