When Beomgyu walked the halls, he did not expect to be the talk of the school. Well... not his name per se, but the mysterious artist that was painting the mural was technically him so, same difference. It was lunch once again and he had, like usual, taken residence in the art room.
He never knew why it wasn't occupied at lunch. Students had the freedom to literally eat anywhere they wanted and the art studio wasn't off-limits. He would've thought that the large, spacious room with several desks and a lot of floor space would be a nice place to eat but apparently not.
He was just settling down when the door burst open, sending Beomgyu jumping in the air. He shot a glare at the boy who had just walked in but quickly turned it into a grin when Yeonjun pointed at him. "You! Good Sir! My Best friend, my one and only, my bank-robbing bud, what the actual fuck!"
"What did I do?" Beomgyu giggled as the older approached him.
"The mural looks so good Gyu! Honestly, you could just leave it like that if you wanted to! Everyone is talking about it!"
"I know," Beomgyu murmured, wincing a bit. "I literally can't go three feet without hearing about it. It's not THAT good. It just the sky I don't understand the impo-"
"Junnie!" A new voice yelled and the two boys glanced up and watched as Kai, Taehyun, and Soobin walked in, each with a wide smile on their faces. "We were wondering if you two were here!"
Yeonjun grinned at his boyfriend, pulling out a chair beside him, inviting his boyfriend to sit down while Taehyun sat across from Beomgyu and Kai beside him. "Yeah, I just wanted to see if Beomgyu saw the mural," he responded, sending his best friend a quick wink.
"Oh!" Taehyun began, smile widening, "Isn't it so good! It's not even finished and it looks amazing!" Beomgyu had to tear his gaze away from the beautiful boy and focus on his food so that they wouldn't see his blush. The praise, for some reason, felt so much different coming from him.
"It really is! Right, Beomgyu?" Yeonjun sniggered, nudging the younger. Beomgyu shot a glare at his friend before giving a small smile.
"Yeah. You can tell they put a lot of time into it," he murmured before turning his gaze back to his food. His appetite was slowly leaving him but maybe he could shove down a few bites-
"I wonder who it is!" Oh, there it went. Goodbye food. Goodbye appetite. Beomgyu glanced up at Kai who had just spoken.
"I heard that they didn't want anyone to know," Yeonjun responded, his hand grabbing Beomgyu's knee under the table which was shaking rapidly. He squeezed it, trying to comfort the younger before retracting his hand.
"That's really cool," Taehyun murmured, his gaze far away. "It shows that they don't want the attention and I think that's very noble." Beomgyu once again had to duck his head, a new flush coloring his features as he shoved down his macaroni and cheese. "But I do hope they reveal themselves afterward. They deserve that much thanks at least."
Yeonjun nodded, "I agree, I think they should too." Beomgyu chuckled sheepishly, before glancing up at the group.
"But what if they don't want people to know who they are because they're scared of the reactions or the eyes that would be watching them? Judging them?" Taehyun shrugged at that, taking the question as a normal inquiry and nothing more.
"I don't think anyone will judge them, it's really good. But even if they did then fuck them. They don't appreciate beautiful art," he finished, staring straight at Beomgyu's eyes. The older gulped and nodded, breaking eye contact when he dropped his eyes back to his food.
Lunch continued as normal. Well at least for the social four. Beomgyu just sat there, contemplating Taehyun's words and trying his best not to be brought into the conversation. He really didn't want to seem like a bitch, but he just wasn't warmed up to them enough yet for him to be his complete self. So he stayed silent, appreciating that they let him remain so.
