The following days passed by with no real event defining them, although the murders had continued, and the town had grown even wearier.

How were they meant to sleep knowing that a loved one would likely be next? And so Donghyuck had been granted permission to go the skiing trip with his friends due to his mother's concern with him staying in town with a prolific killer on the loose.

To say Donghyuck was excited would be an understatement. And although Renjun had bigger ideas for the younger, he still found his excitement quite endearing.

The pair had become stuck to each other at the hip. This made a bond form between them as Donghyuck had eventually revealed many secrets to the older Chinese boy, knowing that there was a level of trust that they shared that he had never had with another.

"Junnie! You don't understand, we'll be sharing a room! We can stay up late and talk about anything and everything-" he was cut off by a low chuckle, and even though many would have heard the sinister tone behind it, all Donghyuck could hear was an angelic sound.

"I know, Hyuck. It'll be so much fun." The younger nodded along, his hands tightly gripping the straps to his backpack while he spoke about all the things they would do when they would be stuck up in the mountains. Renjun couldn't deny that the younger was cute. His rambling added to his hyper attitude, and all of this caused a smile to form on Renjun's face as he watched silently.

The pair stepped into the school, the heated building contrasting with the bitter cold of the outdoors causing their hands to go numb immediately.

"We could play truth or dare with the other boys if they can sneak over to our cabin?" Donghyuck hummed, crouching down slightly when he got to his locker.

Renjun stood behind him, waiting for the younger to finish at his locker before they could go to his. "That's a great idea, but I was hoping that we could use our 'cabin time' to get closer."

Donghyuck stopped fiddling with the lock when he felt a chill run down his spine. He kind of liked that idea.

He continued to battle with the stubborn lock until he finally got it open, but once again froze on the spot when a hand started to ruffle his hair.

"You're so cute, Hyuckie," the older mumbled absent-mindlessly while playing with Donghyuck's golden locks fondly. "And I just can't wait for our time together. I have so many things planned."
