There's something odd and different about today...

Declan really wants to eat something but can't figure out what it is and it's starting to annoy the hell out of him.

"What's wrong?" Shivon asked as she sits beside Declan on the couch.

He scratched his forehead. "I don't know. I know I want something but I don't know what it is."

Maging si Shivon ay nagtaka. "You know you want something, pero hindi mo alam kung ano? Ang gulo mo naman."

"I know right." Hinaplos niya ang binti ng asawa na nakadantay sa kanya.

"I'm sure you'll figure it out!" Shivon smiled at her husband.

Nakasalampak silang dalawa sa couch habang nanonood ng palabas nang bigla na lamang sumigaw si Declan.

"I want longganisa!" Declan suddenly shouted with excitement.

Napahawak naman sa dibdib si Shivon. Her heart would've jumped!

"Goodness!" She exclaimed then eyed Declan. "You never tried longganisa before. You said it looks so much with cholesterol and now... you want it?"

Declan shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know. It won't hurt to try right?" He smiled like child.

Napailing na lamang si Shivon. Well, siguraduhin lang nitong kakainin nito ang lulutuin niyang longganisa 'cause she's not in the mood eating a heavy meal para sa meryenda.

Pagkatapos niyang magluto ng longganisa ay naisipan niyang magtimpla ng pineapple juice bago tawagin si Declan. While preparing it, she heard Declan coming to the kitchen.

"That smells so good baby!" Ani ni Declan at inamoy ang longganisang inilagay niya sa hapag.

That made her think. He's being so cheerful about longganisa, a food she don't even remember his husband would try. Metikuloso ang asawa niya sa pagkain, he wants everything healthy for the both of them.

Again, she shrugged. "Take a seat now, love. I'll just finish making this juice for you."

"Thank you, baby." Declan paused a second. "Wait, what's that flavor?" He asked.

"Uhm, pine—"

"I wan't a mango flavor, please love. I want everything mangoey today. Mango seems so appetizingly good to me."

Did her husband just rant about mango? Mangoey? Is that even a word?

"Oh, O...kay." Now, she's being suspish. Declan's favorite juice was pineapple. He wants everything pineapple. Everything. Not apple, definitely not mango but pineapple.

Nagbago na? She wasn't informed or maybe he's just feeling a little bit considerate about little things today. 'It won't hurt to try' he said, isn't it?

Halos maubos ni Declan ang lahat ng sinaing niya maging ang nirequest nitong longganisa, he even drank 3 glasses of mango juice! And thats new dahil alam niya ang lahat ng ayaw at gusto ng asawa niya, even his routine everyday. Declan starts his day with a protein shake and workouts for 3 hours but today he's all day on the couch, eats like a monkey and requested unusual cravings.

He's like a pregnant woman.

After ng meryenda nila ay sinabayan niya muling sumalampak sa couch ang asawa. Minutes later, Declan was being annoyed at the tv. They're watching a cooking show, and he's annoyed because of how the chef cuts the ingredients. Like, who gets annoyed with that?

"Thats not how a chief should cut ingredients. How is he even called a chef?!" Pinaspas pa ni Declan ang kamay sa sobrang frustration nito sa pinapanood.

"Love, it's just ingredients. Why are you even angry about it anyway?" She asked calmly while still watching.

"That man shouldn't be on tv! He's cutting all those poor potatoes like a crime!" Napupuyos si Declan sa pinanggagawa ng chef sa cooking show na pinapalabas sa tv.

When Shivon heard what he said, doon na siya napalingon sa asawa. Akala niya ay nagbibiro lang ito at naggagalit-galitan pero nagulat siya ng makitang totoong nagagalit nga ito dahil sa kung paano hiwain ng chef sa tv ang mga patatas na ingredients.

What is wrong with him? He's mad because of the poor potatoes? Hindi alam ni Shivon kung ano ba ang uunahing dapat na maramdaman niya. Kung magtataka ba muna, matatawa o maiinis kay Declan.

In the end, she watched the show alone. Pagkatapos nitong mairita kanina ay iniwan siya nito para puntahan ang mga alagang halaman. Napailing na lang siya sa hobby ng kanyang asawa.

Days have passed and Declan's unusual doings became more often. Hindi alam ni Shivon kung anong pakulo ba ang ginagawa ni Declan o baka nagbabago lang ito ng routine, either way she's not complaining about it. It's just unsual for her is all.

Weekend came, family and friends joined them for the barbeque party. Even them felt something was different about Declan, some of them mentioned to her. Everyone is so busy chatting and catching up when a concerned Benneth came to Shivon asking if what is up with his brother.

She sipped from the cup she's holding while eyeing Declan thats talking with Iohan. "To be honest, I don't know whats going on with him lately." Napabuntong-hininga siya. "He's having mood swings."

"H-Hes having mood swings?!" Benneth whispered shockingly. "What else?" He added.

Nagtataka niya namang tinignan si Benneth. Mukhang nagulat ito at may alam kung bakit ganoon na lamang ang kuya niya.

"Uhm, he's requesting food he never liked or eaten before. Food like longganisa, tons of fries, balut, even singkamas dipped in chilli! Oh! on top of that, he kept on asking indian mangoes!"

Shivon ranted, ranted and ranted everything about Declan while Benneth's face glowed like something magical happened before its eyes! Is he even listening?

Lumaki ang kanyang mata ng biglang hawakan ng dalawang kamay ni Benneth ang kanyang balikat. Ilang beses ba siyang dapat na magulat para sa linggong ito? Like, everything is so unsual. Something is different. Something is odd.

Its strange.

And she's feeling it too. You know the feeling when something is going to happen and your nerves are on alert? The feeling when your guts is telling you something but you cant figure out what it is? Like all the clues are waving at you and you...you...

Wait, what the hell really is going on?
