It’s been a month since Bridget pulled her stomach muscle on the beach of Panama City. Tomorrow is my birthday and so far Bridget hasn’t mentioned anything about it. It kind of has disappointed me. Normally she has something planned that she won’t stop talking about. Has she forgot my birthday?
“What are you so happy about?” Bridget asked as she came out of the bathroom.
“Life,” I said hoping she would mention something about tomorrow.
“I’m happy with our life too,” Bridget said with a smile as she dressed for the day.
“I’m going to go out to the farm with Jason later,” I told her, “You don’t mind do you?”
“No. I have some things I need to get done around here anyways,” Bridget told me.
I walked over to her gave her a kiss and rubbed her now clearly visible pregnant belly before I got into the shower. We were going to have to make an announcement of some kind in the next week or so. Bridget will be out on the road with me again soon and we won’t be able to hide it.
“Bridge,” I yelled, “Can you grab me a towel?”
“What would you do if I wasn’t here?” Bridget asked with a smile as she brought it into the bathroom.
“Probably get yelled at for getting water all over the bathroom,” I said knowing that is exactly what would happen.
“Point made,” Bridget said, “I’m going to get breakfast started before everyone wakes up.”
“Okay,” I told her as I finished drying off and stepped out of the shower.
Once again she’s acted like tomorrow is just another day. I’ve got to get out of this house. I went down to the kitchen and had coffee while Bridget finished breakfast. It was moments after it was finished that the kids and Tia made it to the kitchen. We enjoyed our meal with very little conversation. Kenzie was excited that Keeley and Kendall were coming over. Tia was taking the boys out for the day and Bridget was going to hang out with Brittany.
“Morning ya’ll,” Jason said as he walked into the kitchen closely followed by Brittany, Keeley, and Kendall.
“Good morning,” Bridget said as I remained silent.
“You ready to head out to the farm?” Jason asked me.
“Yeah. Let me run upstairs and grab my thirty-aught-six,” I answered as I walked out of the kitchen.
Jason followed me. “What’s up with you?” Jason asked as I unlocked the gun safe.
“It’s Bridget. She’s acting like tomorrow’s just another day. She’s always planned something,” I explained in disappointment.
“I’m sure she has something planned. Just wait until tomorrow. I’m sure she’ll prove you wrong,” Jason assured me as we walked back downstairs.
“We’ll be back,” I told Bridget as I lightly pecked her lips, “Love you.”
“Love you,” Bridget replied.
“Love you,” Jason said to Brittany as he kissed her passionately.
I missed that passion when a relationship is new, when you first fall in love with someone. There’s nothing in this world like it. I’m hoping Bridget and I can ignite that passion again. I have a special surprise up my sleeve later this month that will hopefully do just that.
The ride to the farm was quiet. It’s not like it took long anyways. We pulled up and parked the truck in front of the Party Barn. Jason was the first one out and was loading up my Gator before I ever managed to get out of the truck.
