I just walked off stage. The high is amazing, but for the first time in a week I get to go back to the bus and relax. I stopped at the bus door to text Bridget.
*Baby, I just got off stage in Indy. I sang Faithfully for you tonight. I’m really thinking of adding it into the set list every night. The fans respond so well to it. Give the kids kisses from me. I can’t wait to talk to you in the morning. I hope you have sweet dreams and no more nightmares. I love you.*
I press send and walked onto the bus making sure to close the door behind me. I can’t wait to get a shower. I probably stink after the show. I set my phone down on the table and walked to the back to get some clothes.
“Well, well, well. We meet again,” the man from the plane said as he waved a 9mm around.
“How did you get here?” I questioned.
“It doesn’t matter how I got here. All that matters is that I am here. And you are going with me,” he told me.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” I stated.
“You don’t have a choice,” he said as he pointed the gun to my head and started pushing me towards the door.
My mind froze. I didn’t know what to say or what to do. Honestly, I wanted to cry. I had never been in such a life or death situation. He pushed me out the door of the bus, directly in front of Kerri and my entire security team. Kerri gasped and every member of the security team started to reach for their guns.
“I wouldn’t do that if I was you. I’ll pull this trigger and he’ll be dead. Do you want his death hanging over you?” he told everyone as he moved us towards the exit.
“You can’t take him,” Kerri cried.
“I can do whatever I damn well please. I have a gun to his head. He’s not going anywhere I don’t want him to. Besides you have his precious Bridget to think of,” he smirked.
Bridget! How could I have not thought of Bridget and the kids? I mean I do have a 9mm pointed at my head that in all honesty could kill me before I have the chance to exhale, but they mean more to me than anything in this world. Bridget is not going to handle this well. I hope that Kerri doesn’t just call her. I pray that she goes through Brittany and Jason. That will be what is best for her and the twins.
My thoughts had slowed me down. This man has jerked my arm more times than I care to count in the past few minutes. We finally reached a red Ford Fusion with dark tinted windows. He shoved me into the backseat and pointed the gun at me the entire time he walked around the car.
“I’m Brad, by the way. Nice to officially meet you, Luke,” he said as he climbed into the driver’s seat.
“I don’t give a flying fuck who you are,” I rudely answered him.
“I suggest you start. I hold your entire future in my hand,” Brad said as he waved the gun around while we were pulling out of the parking garage.
There was one of those metal protection things like they have in police cars in between the seats preventing me from doing anything. The doors and windows are evidently child safety locked, but it hasn’t prevented me from still trying to get the doors open.
“You might as well give up. You’re not getting out of this car until I am ready for you too. You might as well get comfortable. It’s going to be a long drive,” Brad enlightened me.
“Why are you doing this? What are you getting out of taking me from my family?” I asked.
“You have everything that I want. I don’t know how some arrogant ass from hillbilly Georgia won someone as amazing as Bridget Bowman,” Brad informed me.
