“Babe, get up!” I yelled at Luke, shaking our bed at The Hermitage Hotel, “We overslept.”
“Huh?” Luke said groggily.
“Get up! We are going to miss our flight!” I screamed again.
There was a knock at the door.
“Are ya’ll coming?” Jason asked as he stood outside of our suite’s door.
“We overslept,” I told him leaving the door open for him and Brittany to enter as I walked back into the room.
“Luke, get up man!” Jason yelled at him as I ran around trying to get everything together.
We made a mess of our room last night in the throes of passion. Our clothes were scattered everywhere. I was shoving them into our suitcases not caring what when in what bag.
“Calm down, Bridget,” Brittany told me, “What do I need to do?”
“Everything has to go into these bags,” I told her as she started helping me throw everything into the bags.
“Luke! Dammit! Get up!” Jason yelled, “If we miss this flight Bridget is going to kill you!”
I ran over and jumped on the bed startling Luke out of his sleep.
“What the hell, Bridge?!” Luke shouted at me as he opened his eyes.
“You need to get up! We are late!” I yelled at him.
“Please quit yelling at me,” Luke said still in a daze.
Luke sat up realizing that we were not alone and looked at me. At that moment I realized Luke didn’t have any clothes on under the covers. I shot Brit and Jason a look letting them know to wait in the other room and they went to the sitting room.
“Get up!” I yelled again.
“I’m working on it. Damn, give me a minute,” Luke said aggravatedly as he pulled the covers over his head.
“Luke, honey, we don’t have a minute,” I told him as I walked over throwing the covers off of him and the bed, “Our flight leaves in two hours. We should have been at the airport already.”
“Why didn’t you say so?” Luke asked as he scrambled out of the bed, “What the hell happened in here?”
“Seriously? Do you not remember last night at all?” I asked him in return.
“I remember this,” he said as he walked up to me and pulled me into a passionate kiss.
I pulled away, “I love you to pieces, but we haven’t got time for this right now.”
Luke looked disappointed and started searching for clothes to put on. By the time he was dressed I had all our bags packed and was ready to head to the airport.
“Are ya’ll ready now?” Brittany asked as we walked into the sitting room.
“We’re ready!” I exclaimed walking towards the door.
We made it to our terminal at the airport with 45 minutes to wait before our flight boarded. The four of us sat waiting in silence. Luke slept, slouched down, listening to music on his iPhone, Jason thumbed through Whitetail Country, Brittany scrolled through her Instagram account, and I read Fifty Shade of Grey on my Kindle.
“Flight 7589 to Los Angeles is now boarding at Gate 18,” someone announced over the intercom.
“Baby, wake up,” I gently shook Luke.
“What is it?” Luke asked pulling his Beats off his ears.
“We’re loading,” I told him softly.
