This week has been amazing with Tia here, she has truly become a part of the family and I’m glad that Luke has had the opportunity to get to know her, but tonight he heads back out on the road again. Today we have decided that we are going to spend as much time together as humanly possible, yet Luke had to go to the farm for something first thing this morning. As I am getting out of the shower I vaguely hear him talking to Tia. Before I knew it he was busting into our bedroom door. He was covered with grease and oil from head to toe.
“What the hell happened to you?” I asked.
“We were changing the oil in the truck and the damn oil pan fell down on top of me,” Luke explained.
“Only you,” I laughed as I continued looking for clothes.
Luke edged his way closer to me. I knew he was getting ready to go into a full out run to chase me down and he did as soon as the thought crossed my mind. He chased me right out of our bedroom and down the hall. I paused for a moment at the bottom of the stairs before running through the kitchen. Tia was sitting at the kitchen table and looked up in shock as I ran past her wearing nothing, but my bra and underwear. Luke was behind me just out of reach. I slung the backdoor open and launched out onto the porch. That was when Luke caught me. He pulled me tight and rubbed his greasy, oily self all over me before he kissed me.
“I just got out of the shower,” I said with a smile.
“You’ll wash,” Luke said with a smirk.
He kissed me again. I felt like a teenager in love for the first time. It was a magical moment, even though I wanted to kill him for ruining my favorite bra. It was chilly outside for a May morning, so we went back in the house. Tia was staring at us, now both covered in oil and grease.
“You two are something else. It’s like living with a couple of teenagers sometimes,” Tia laughed.
“We can’t be that bad? Can we?” Luke asked her.
“Well in the past five days you have had full blown make-out sessions in the middle of the living room, fought over the stupidest stuff, and now chased each other down,” Tia explained.
“Point made,” Luke responded.
“But it’s cute. I’m glad that you are not afraid to show how much you love each other in those ways,” Tia explained to us.
“Well, I don’t know about you, but I’m getting in the shower,” Bridget paused, “Again!”
Tia smiled as I started walking towards the bedroom, making sure to grab the Dawn dish soap, with Luke straggling along behind me. I quickly showered and then helped Luke get all the oil out of his hair. As Luke finished his shower I dressed and took our clothes to the laundry room. Tia was still sitting in the kitchen as I passed through.
“Sorry about that,” I apologized.
“It’s okay. I love that you show your love for each other like you do. It just amazes me how you can love someone so much,” Tia explained.
“I really do love him. Probably more than I ever dreamed was possible,” I told Tia.
“I can tell. I’m glad that you both feel comfortable being yourselves around me,” Tia said.
“Neither one of us hide anything from anyone. Well, except this,” I told her as I gestured towards my engagement ring.
“Why have you been hiding your engagement?” Tia asked me.
“It’s still so new. Not even two weeks yet, but I would say we will announce it soon,” I explained as Luke walked into the kitchen.
“Whatcha doing, good lookin’?” Luke asked me with a mischievous grin.
