Pari: Sana this is not fair. Bhai is known to be one of the humble celebrity.
Sana: To?? Maine uske baare me thodi kaha.
She got up and went to the room. Pari came behind her
Pari: Hum sab jaante hai, vo tu ne bhai ke leye he kaha tha.
Sana: Ha usse ke leye kaha. Pari usse dekh kar muje mere saare takleef yaad aate hai.Mai ne bade pyaar se apne dil me uske leye jagah banai the. Par ab vo vaha naasur bana baita hai. Mere bass me hota na to mai apne dil se uska naam kureed deti.
Pari: Vo to uske bas me bhi nhi hai. Par us baat ko nau saal beet gayi hai Sana
Sana: Mai jaanti hu. Par jab bhi usse dekhti hu mere dil me aag lag jaati hai.
Pari: Mai yeh nhi kehti ke tere sath jo hua vo sahi hua. Par kahani ka dusra side bhi ho sakta hai na baby??
Sana: Aur vo dusra side dekha hai maine. Isse leye nhi aana chahti the mai
Pari: Accha accha ab fir se shuru mat ho jaana. Tu mere leye aayi hai na. Tu mere sath khush reh.
They had finished Adi's shopping and Sid was returning home, dropping Adi to his place. He can give it a thought. An ad company was insisting him to do an ad campaign. He had to go to Goa for a week. He had refused earlier because of the wedding in the house. But now it feels, as the preparations are over, he can take this project. It can keep him busy and out of the way of Sana. That would be better. He can fly to udaipur three days before the wedding. This is a good plan. He will go with it.
All were sitting in the hall, looking at the cards, which had come from the printers. Baba and uncle both were very happy to see Sana.
Baba: Sana ke aane se yeh shaadi ka ghar lagne laga hai.
Uncle: Par bahot chup chup ho gayi hai ab. Pehle nhi to kitna shor hota tha iska.
Sana: Uncle mai ab badi ho gayi hu.
Baba: Jaisi bhi hai. Hame hamari beti bahot pyaari lagti hai.
Maa: Ha vo to hai.
Sana smiled. These people are so loving. She loved them all so much. Except one. And saw that exception entered the hall. She looked at him. He is so handsome. Her heart skipped a beat. Stop it. She scolded herself. He came and stood in front of baba. His expression grim.
Sid: Baba ek project aaya hai achaanak. Muje Goa jaana padega. Mai directly udaipur pahuch jaaunga, shaadi ke leye.
Baba: Par beta ghar me shaadi hai.
Sid: Baba sab to kaam ho gaye hai. Ab mai agar chala jaau to koi farak nhi padega.
Reet: Siddharth aise kaise farak nhi padega. Tu hamara bada beta hai. Hamme sab kaamo me teri zarurat hai.
Sid: Par chachi...
Maa: Siddharth jo bhi hai usse mana kar de.
Sid: Are shaadi ke pehle mai pahuch jaaunga.
Pari: Nahi bhai uski bhi koi zarurat nhi hai. Aap nhi aaoge to bhi chalega. Aap ke na aane se meri shaadi ruk thodi jaayegi?? Aap jaao. Ajeeb drama laga rakha hai sab ne.
Pari got up and ran to her room. All gave him an accusing look. Except one who was not even looking at him.
Sid: Ab vo naraaz ho kar gayi. Aap log to muje aise mat dekho.
Maa: Siddharth yeh bahot galat hai. Rula diya na bacchi ko.
Sid ran towards Pari's room. He knocked and opened the door. She was standing in the balcony. Tears in her eyes. Sid went and stood next to her.
Sid: Pari samaj na yaar.
Pari: Kya samjhu bhai. Yeh ke mera bada bhai, jisse me sabse zyada close hu, vo kisi project ke wajah se mere shaadi ke functions nhi attend karega. Isse to accha hota ke mai aur Adi court marriage he kar lete.
Sid: Abe fir vo designer lehenga kaha pehenti. Pari, tu sab jaanti hai na. Agar tu nhi samjegi to kon samjega.
There was a knock on the door and Adi barged in.
Adi: Kya hua Pari?? Sid tu kaha jaa raha hai??
Sid: To Tu ne isse bhi bula liya??
Adi: Vo sab chod. Tu kaha jaa raha hai??
Sid: Are bhai ek project tha...
Adi: Sid mai tuje ek punch maarunga ab. Tuje sharam nhi aati. Tu yeh sab Sana ke wajah se kar raha hai na??
Sid looked away avoiding their eyes.
Sid: Adi kuch bhi bakwaas mat kar.
Adi: Abe kise bewakoof bana raha hai. Tuje kya lagta hai, hum jaante nhi kya??
Pari: Adi rehne de yaar.
Adi: Nahi Pari. Nau saal ho gayi. And we all know he is crazy for her.
Sid: Adi just shut up. Muh tod dunga tera mai.
Adi: Sid band kar khud ko itni takleef dena. Nahi to mai muh tood dunga tera.
Pari: Accha accha bas kar do aap log ladna.
Sid: Adi. Mere bhai aaj bol diya. Par fir kabhi yeh baat mat nikaalna apne jabaan se.
Pari: Par bhai aap usse pyaar karte ho na??
Sid: Nahi pari koi pyaar vyaar nhi hai.
Pari: To fir aisa kya hai ke aap usse itna effect hote ho. Aap ne usse apne se dur kar diya bhai. Kyu??
Sid: Pari usse na mera rishta bahot ajeeb hai. Vo mere jitna dur haina, mere dil ke utna kareeb hai. Aur mere jeene ke wajah bhi.
Adi: Fir to yeh pyaar he hai.
Sid: Adi usme aur mujhme eleven years ka farak hai bhai. Tu samjhta kyu nhi. She deserved to explore the world. She deserved to meet people. This relationship was not the best option for her. She would have felt suffocated after sometime.
Adi: Age gap?? Konse duniya me rehta hai bhai mere tu??
Sid: Isse duniya me. Aur tum dono kaan khol kar sun lo. Specially pari tu. Tu iss baare me kisise kuch nhi kahegi. Pari tuje meri kasam hai.
Pari: Thek hai bhai. Par fir aap nhi jaa rahe ho.
Sid: Pari...
Pari: Nahi to abhi jaa kar Sana ko sab sach sach bata dungi.
Sid: Blackmail haa?? Vaise bhi nhi jaa raha mai. Tum dono ke emotional drama ke baad jaane ke himmat kar sakta hu kya??
Adi: Khaana kha raha tha. Iska call aaya ke tu jaa raha hai. Aise he uth kar aa gaya. Hath bhi nhi dhoya.
Pari: Sheee Adi...
Sid: Kaise aadmi se shaadi kar rahi hai tu Pari.
They all laughed, Pari was relieved and Sid was worried. He had known all along that he still loved Sana. But Adi's words had struck him hard. He had kept his distance from her for nine years. He had once seen Sana in Canada in a mall. He so wanted to go and talk to her. But he had stopped himself. He didn't had the courage to face her.
It was two at night. Sana was not able to sleep. Adi had come rushing few minutes later and ran to Pari's room, when Pari had been upset with Sid and left the hall, followed by Sid. They all had come down after few minutes and Sid had announced that he is not going anywhere. All were happy. Pari was the happiest. She loved his big brother very much. Sana was happy for her. She will have to control her bitterness towards Sid until the wedding. Their cold wars are affecting Pari's happiness. And she didn't want that. She will have to speak about it to Sid. There will have to be a truce between them. She felt a need for tea. Tea was the best remedy for all problems according to Sana. She came out of the room and walked towards the kitchen. As she was passing by, she saw Sid laying on the sofa on the terrace with his eyes closed.
He could sense her with his eyes closed even after nine years. He knew she was standing watching him. His heart was beating faster. What does she want?? Is she here to confront. Has Pari said something, did she hear their conversation. No she must have not. Because if that was the case, she would have not waited so long.
He looked so handsome. She had fallen in love with him nine years ago. She had waited for the vacations to come to Mumbai just to be with him. He had given in to her every command, had pampered her, had done and acted as she liked. And then everything changed. She was lost in thought.
Sid: Kahoo??
With his eyes still closed
Sana: kya??
Sid: Jo kehna hai kaho??
Sana: Siddharth mujhe tujhse baat karni hai.
Sid opened his eyes, sat upright and looked at her. She was looking mesmerizing in that pale blue sleeveless ankle length night gown. An emotion he felt so strongly made his hands trembled.
Sid: Bol??
She came forward and sat on the chair opposite the sofa.
Sana: Muje tujhse Pari ke baare me baat karni hai.
Sid: Sun raha hu mai.
Sana: Mai jaanti hu tune aaj jo decision liya tha Goa jaane ka vo mere vajah se leya tha.
Sid: (Smirking) Tu bahot acchi tarah jaanti hai na muje.
Sana: Nahi mai tuje bilkul nhi jaanti. Par aaj vo decision tune liya, vo mai samaj gayi kyu liya.
Sid: Tu bolna kya chah rahi hai Sana??
Sana: Mai chahti hu ke shaadi hone tak hum dono ke beech jo kadwahat hai use hum dur rakhte hai. Kyuki isse Pari effect ho rahi hai. Let's call it a truce
Sid looked at Sana for a long time.
Sana: Kya??
Sid: Kuch nhi. Cool. Shaadi hone tak no fights, no taunts. Kuch nhi. Truce.
Sana: Muje pata hai tuje mai pasand nhi hu. Par kya kare, tere cousin ke cousin hu. Muje bardaasht karne ke alawa koi option nhi hai.
Sid laughed out loud.
Sana: Has kyu raha hai.
Sid: Maine kaha na tu muje bahot acchi tarah jaanti hai. Chai piyegi??
Sana: Tere hath ke??
Sid: Tujhse to acchi banata hu moti.
Sana: Ha vo to hai. Chal pila de.
Sid walked to the kitchen. Sana felt a weight has been lifted from her shoulder. Keeping a happy environment was necessary and for that, peace between them was a must.
Sana's smile was so beautiful, he thought. It was infectious. Sid could look forever at that smile. A truce between them was the least he had expected from her. But he was glad about it. In fact he was delighted. He took two mugs with him. She was standing leaning to the terrace wall looking at the sea in front of her at night. It looked beautiful. Just like her. He came and stood besides her giving her the mug. They stood quietly. Loving the comfortable silence between them. She looked at him remembering something.
Sid: Kya hua??
Sana: Kuch nhi. Kuch yaad aa gaya.
Sid: Kya??
Sana: Nahi kuch nhi chod.
Sid did not insist. He liked this peace between them and didn't wanted to say or do something which would break it.
Sid: Gaana accha hai tera.
Sana: Tuje sach me pasand aaya??
Sid: Ha kyu??
Sana: Itne logo ko pasand aaya. Sab ne muje congratulate kiya. Tu ek call to chod ek message to karta??
Sid: Aur tu mera call uthati??
Sana: Nahi.
Sid: Fir??
Sana: Vo tuje thodi pata tha mai nhi uthati??
Sid: Muje pata tha.
Sana: Fir to iska matlab yeh hua ke hum ab bhi ek dusre ko bahot acche se pehchante hai.
