"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?" Muichirou asked, noticing you upon your arrival at the location your crow had described, or kept yelling at.

"Did you forget? We're going on this mission together." you told him. "Then again, I only knew because Kuro kept screaming how he was mad that you were here."

The mission was tracking a demon who abducted children that, strangely, always left a plant behind. The plant that grew was blood red and couldn't be dug up, burned, or killed with pesticide.

"Really? I must've forgot." he said, placing a hand on your head. "Well, I'll make sure you don't fall asleep."

"Speaking of which, this is the first time we've gone on a mission together, right?" you asked, placing your hands on his hand and removing it.

You love the head pats (hell, even the word love is an understatement) but now was not the time for head pats, you had a mission to do and you're gonna finish it and then maybe you'll ask for head pats, who knows.

"What are you talking about? We've gone on a mission together before." he said, letting his arm fall to his side.

"Well that didn't count. It was my mission and you joined in." you frowned, recalling how badly injured you were that day, beforehand and after.

"I guess you're right." he sighed, taking your hand in his. "This will be the first official mission we've gone on together."

"Yeah." you nodded. "So, what should we do first?" you asked.

"Hmm, why don't we check the plants that are left behind? We'd probably find a clue there."

You two wandered the place, finding a plant that was out of view of the other villagers and was in the shade.

"Wow, it really is blood red." you said, admiring the plant that looked like a jewel. "Hmm, let me try pulling it out."

"Be careful. It's still a product by a demon." Muichirou warned (why was he even telling you something obvious? Could it be.........? He cares for you?). You merely nodded, sensing the worry (?) in his voice.

You firmly grasped the blood red plant and pulled it out with all your strength.

It wouldn't budge.

You had a firm hold of it yet it kept slipping. It was solid but the moment you tried to pull it out it becomes a sort of semi-solid. Needless to say, it became impossible to pull it out.

"Ah, let me try my sword." you said, pulling out the magenta tinted sword and tried to slice it.

Key word: Tried.

It bended?

What was before you was really odd. You haven't seen a demon blood technique like this before.

"It's useless." you muttered, sheathing your sword and getting up. "I guess we should try to do something else. It seems like we might have to destroy the root if the problems; in other words, the demon itself."

"It seems so." Muichirou's gaze turned from the plant to you. "But before that," he paused, bringing up the hand you used to grasp the plant, he held it gently over his own two hands as he looked at it. "We have to get bandaged first. It's bleeding a lot."

You looked to your hand to see it was indeed bleeding, tiny crimson droplets falling onto Muichirou's hands then down to the soil, coloring it crimson before turning a reddish brown.

"When did it bleed?" you turned to look at the blood plant that remained red, maybe your blood was on there but you couldn't see it because of the color. "It must've been when I pulled the plant." you said.
