Thomas had just left the Shelton Manor after having his final debriefing with Javier Shelton. The 2 weeks had expired for Thomas, and so his role as Ethan Shelton's bodyguard was officially over.
It had been an eventful 2 weeks for Thomas. Even though it wasn't the most physically demanding hiring, it was still a mental series of backflips for Thomas.
There was so much push and pull with Ethan, and Thomas was glad that they eventually got to a comfortable place where they were both becoming friends in the short amount of time.
Ethan was waiting for Thomas in the car as he wanted to treat Thomas to a thank you meal. He waited for the bodyguard to sit inside the car as he then drove them away.
"Your dad gave me a nice bonus for everything I did for you." Thomas told Ethan, "It was extra for how much emotional and physical turmoil you put me through."
Ethan dryly laughed at Thomas as he punched his arm. Thomas rubbed the injured spot as he turned back to face forward. "Where are we going anyway, Ethan?"
"Grandbull's Steakhouse." It was an exclusive restaurant where Ethan managed to book a table for them both, by using his family's name to make a reservation at the high end restaurant. "They serve Wagyu beef, and it's probably the best thing you'll ever taste."
Thomas could hear the excitement coming from Ethan's voice. "Sounds expensive. But we really don't have to do it with the overpriced steak, a couple of beers would be just fine."
Ethan wasn't going to allow this, because he wanted to offer Thomas the best that was available. After everything the bodyguard has done for him over the 2 weeks, Ethan felt an expensive dinner was the least he could do for him.
"Now that your head's no longer mummified, I'm no longer embarrassed to be seen hanging out with you." Ethan laughed. He really wanted to hang out with Thomas one last time, "Come on! This will be fun."
Even though Thomas was no longer hired to guard Ethan, he still felt protective of him because Ethan was his friend. So Thomas was was still concerned that the old Ethan may return, which would mean he would be far too carefree about everything that's happened to him recently.
"Are you sure we want to be having fun right now? I hear these young people say that being safe is super fun."
Ethan felt like Thomas aged 30 years by saying 'these young people'. Horror was showing on his face as Thomas laughed back.
"After the media labelled us 'heroes' for stopping those men a couple of days ago, I'm pretty sure they're going to be staying under the radar." Ethan explained, "I'm actually a hot topic again now, so they aren't going to follow me whilst reporters are on my back."
Ethan felt positive that all the drama with Mr Checkstone may finally be over. His men were out-bested, Ethan was physically capable to defend himself against any of those men, and he felt like his life would be back to normal - just with less drama and a lesser ego.
"It's only been 1 day!" Thomas laughed at Ethan's optimism that he may be out of the danger zone. A part of him felt like Ethan was being way too naive, regardless Thomas didn't want to ruin Ethan's mood. "I like the positivity though."
"Me too!" Ethan cheered.

"I can't fucking believe this!"
Ethan was extremely frustrated as he stood in front of the steakhouse, talking to the manager that was in charge of the bookings.
The manager was extremely apologetic as she kept on repeating that Ethan booked a table for the same restaurant, but in a different state. With the extremely busy restaurant fully booked, the manager couldn't do anything to give Ethan a table.
