Typing on your phone, you sat quietly on your bed when a soft knock came on the door. Billie stood there, awkwardly leaning on the doorframe.
"Hey, Y/N, can I ask you something?"
"I think you just did, Billie," you replied sarcastically.
With a scoff, she walked over and sat next to you on the bed, "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that. Are you free tomorrow night?"
"It's not like I suddenly have a life, Ms. Howard, but yeah, I'm free. What do you need?"
"So, you remember how I told you Lana invited me to a party?"
You put down your phone, giving Billie your full attention, "Yeah?"
"I heard from her that Cordelia's gonna be there," she continued.
"Ooh, that's gotta hurt," you remarked, your mind going back to your best friend's stories of her ex-girlfriend, "What does this have to do with me being free, though?"
"Uh, could you come with me, please?"
"Why? Because your ex is gonna be there?"
"Just pretend to be my date."
"Why, exactly?" you asked.
"Because," she replied exasperatedly, "I don't think I can face her alone. I just want you there, you know, as moral support."
"Give me a minute to think, wait."
"Please don't be mad at me for asking this of you."
"I'm not mad, I'm constructing the perfect fuck-her outfit in my head. How do you feel about the color black?"
"God, I love you, Y/N."
