"Pssst, are you asleep?" your best friend nudged you from the other side of the bed.

You yawned and turned to face her, "I was already asleep when you decided to disrupt the peace."

"I'm sorry."

"Nah, it's cool. I still love you. Now, what were you about to say?"

The blonde beside you got up from the bed and offered you her hand, "Dance with me?"

"Are you kidding me right now?"

"Nope. I'm completely and fully serious. May I have this dance, my lady?"

You sat up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes, and took her hand, "We're seriously going to dance in our bedroom at," a glance was thrown at the clock on your bedside table, "3am?"

"No time like the present."

"Why?"

"Well," she admitted sheepishly, "I suddenly remembered you said your parents never let you attend prom, so I wanted you to experience a proper slow dance."

"With no music?"

"Au contraire, my lady, I have got the perfect music."

She raced over to her phone and your speaker, allowing a familiar song to blast through your shared bedroom.

"This song? Really?"

"You said it yourself, this song makes you want to slow dance in your bedroom at 3am with the person you care about most. Consider me your practice dummy for that person."

"Aw, Sarah," you said, eyes nearly filling with tears at the thoughtfulness of your best friend as you threw your arms around her, "You are the person I care most about, silly, I love you so much."

"I'm really glad to hear that. Now, c'mon, don't waste the perfectly good music."

(play the song if you want to)

I'm not one to stick around
one strike and you're out, baby
don't care if I sound crazy
but you never let me down
no, no
that's why when the sun's up I'm sayin'
still layin' in your bed singin'

Your hands rested on her shoulders and hers on your waist, as both of you wore goofy grins, staring into each other's eyes.

got all this time on my hands
might as well cancel our plans
I could stay here for a lifetime

Normally, you wouldn't be so cooperative, but you allowed her to guide you as you swayed along to the rhythm of the slow song.

so lock the door
and throw out the key
can't fight this no more
it's just you and me
and there's nothing I, nothing I, I can do
I'm stuck with you, stuck with you, stuck with you

Becoming best friends with Sarah wasn't something you had foreseen, but something drew you to each other, not romantically, you just knew you were meant to be friends, and here you were, spending your quarantine together.

so go ahead and drive me insane
baby, run your mouth
I still wouldn't change being
stuck with you, stuck with you, stuck with you
I'm stuck with you, stuck with you, stuck with you, baby
