I was smiling bittersweet as I watch the car pave its way along with the tons of cars that was slowly vanishing from my sight.

I am happy that for the nth time, Caden exerted an effort again. I was thankful that he drove for 4 hours then reviewed me for almost 8 hours, maayos naman sana kaso, hindi ko alam bigla nalang nagbago ang timpla ko. It's just that, I felt bittered when he started telling a story on how did he managed to learn my lessons.

He's studying business while mine was engineering. It became a big question to me not until he opened up about it.

'"Mahal? Sinong nagturo sa'yo ng mga 'to?" I curiously asked.

"Ang galing ko ba, mahal?" he answered.

"Oo, ang dali kong maintindihan!"

"Magaling din kasi 'yung nagturo sa akin kaya ayon, medyo naintindihan ko naman. Ilang oras lang din niya itinuro 'yan sa akin nung minsang umabsent ang prof namin." he answered casually while looking at the notes.

"So sino nga? Para mapasalamatan ko naman." I joked.

"From my friend, mahal."

I halted. From his friend? Caden only have few friends, halos lahat pa ng guy friends niya ay nandito sa Manila, ni isa rin sa kanila ay walang kumuha ng engineering. Probably his girl friends? But as far as I can remember, wala ring kumuha ng engineering sa mga iyon.

"Do you have a friend that took engineering there mahal?" I asked.

"Ha?" he became uneasy then he just changed the topic.'

That's when I remembered that just a month ago, we talked about his past with Kara, he said that she wants to become an engineer too. Who knows, maybe she pursued it right? And maybe she's the one who taught my Caden? And maybe now, they came back with being friends. Huh, what a conclusion Aruzel!

Ginugol ko ang ilang gabi ko sa pagrereview. Caden and I still talk, still updates each other, but there is this barrier that slowly growing up between us, again.

I sighed but then eventually smiled because the finals already ended. I may not be the best, but at least I did my best.

I was bidding my goodbyes to my blockmates because why not? Sila 'yung mga nakasama kong maistress, matakot at muntik nang mag-give up sa taong ito.

We decided to celebrate finishing our first year, ain't sure kung makakaproceed sa next year but yeah, we need to loosen up even just for tonight.

"See you later, Aruzel!" said by our class beadle.

I waved my hands then went out of the room.

I was passing by the other rooms and of course, admirers of mine wouldn't let this school year to end without flattering me.

I just gave them all a smile but then, a guy from another block made me stop with his words.

He shyly waved his hands. "Aruzel, sana blockmates na tayo next school year."

That hit me.

May mga tao na makita o makasama kahit sa iisang area lang yung mga taong hinahangaan nila ay masaya na. What if sa mga nagmamahalan, sobrang inspired siguro nila kung lagi nilang nakikita ang isa't isa. The support that you could get everytime you feel down, one hug and all your worries would be gone.

I shooked my head. No, Aru! Distance doesn't matter, as long as you love and trust each other!

I was walking while my thoughts are flying somewhere else.
