CHAPTER 9

Chapter 9

Him? Really? From Nathan of two years to Kendrick of four months? I don't think so. 

"Hi Ellie!"

I was still drowning in my own thoughts since last week. I don't even know what I'm feeling right now.

As soon as I entered the door, he greets me again with a smile. I smiled awkwardly before going to my chair. I glance at Kendrick again who's in my front. I narrowed my eyes and deeply think.

Mabait lang talaga si Ken kaya minsan napagkakamalan siyang may gusto sa akin, pero siguro para sa kanya ay normal na pakikitungo lang 'yon. Napailing ako habang nakatitig sa kanya. Malabo ko 'tong magustuhan, iba ang tama ko kay Nate e.

Dalawang tao akong nakatingin sa kanya nang malayo, impossibleng mapapalitan lang sa apat na buwan dahil lang sa pakikitungo nito. I shouldn't judge Kendrick's way of treating me. Maybe he was just being friendly, nothing more.

"Nathan, kanina ka pa hinahanap."

Somebody enters the door and to my surprise, it was Nathan. I was thrilled but I got confused when I felt a different feeling, far from the way I got thrilled whenever I see or even just hear his name. Naglakad siya papunta sa mesa ng adviser niya at may hinahanap.

I was just looking at him secretly when Kendrick suddenly arrived to throw a trash. They are unexpectedly just beside each other. Sheda, nananadya ba?! But come to think of it, nakikita ko silang dalawa nang magkatabi. I looked at their backs na parehong nakatalikod sakin. I can't stop myself from comparing them.

Mas matangkad si Kendrick sa kanya, kaya lang medyo umitim siya nung unang kita ko palang sa kanya ng first day kumpara dati, kaya nag kasing kulay sila ng balat ni Nate na kayumanggi. From their personality, kitang kita namang kung sino ang mas mabait, kung sino ang mas matalino, at kung sino ang mas madaling pakisamahan.  But why do I still keep choosing Nathan when all of my want for a man is with Kendrick.

"Good morning, class!"

Natauhan ako nang dumating si prof kaya kanya kanyang balik agad ang mga kaklase ko. She headed to her table and talks something to Nathan before he exit the room. Sa likuran ko pa siya mismo dumaan dahil malapit ang pinto rito.

I took a deep sigh, secretly. The discussion now started so I forced myself to listen and understand every single thing to vanish my deeply thoughts about the two guys.

"I'll give your time today for tommorow's reporting. You may go."

Pagkatapos ng isang oras na klase ay pinalabas na kami ni prof para magplano ng mga gagawin. Ang dami pa naman ng trabaho sa school, stress na naman ako nito.

"Ellie, tara kain." Nakatayo na si Vina sa harapan ko samantalang nag aayos palang ako ng mga gamit. Binigyan ko siya ng isang tango bago tuluyang lumabas sa room kasama ang mga kaibigan namin. 

"Have you planned about your presentation for tomorrow?"

I was just silently eating my carbonara, listening to what their talking. I don't have energy to talk so I remained silent.

"Ellie, kayo?" Michelle pokes me that made my head turns to my side where she was. "Hindi pa." Maikling sagot ko.

They started talking again. My eyes are romaing around the canteen. Maraming tao ngayon pero hindi ko mahagilap si Nate. Where could he be right now?

"Guys, malapit na ang December. Super excited na ako sa Christmas party! Anong magandang suotin? Ano kayang makukuha ko?" Vina giggled upon thinking about the upcoming Christmas party.
