Chapter 19

Running my fingers through my hair, I slump against the couch in Keigo's dressing room while I wait for the oversized bird to get out of from behind the curtain so I can lock up the office. My eyes slowly drooping as I release a tired yawn, groaning as I check the time, pouting about how long it's been since the end of my shift. Why is he taking so long?! He's a tiny man! How does he take ages to get changed?! I swear guys take ages to get themselves ready!

It's insane! I want to get home. I want to have cuddles with my dog. I want to spend time with Rumi and Amai! I want to get into my comfy clothes and watch movies! I want food!

"Keigo! Hurry your ass up! I wanna go home!" I whine, hitting my head head against the pillow resting in my arms against my chest. A small groan leaving my lips as I hear Keigo chuckle to himself, "Keigo! Don't be a dick! I wanna go home!"

"Be patient, baby bird, I'm nearly finished," Keigo says with a small chuckle, throwing the shirt he was wearing earlier over the curtain and making it land on my head covering my face making me whine, "Unless you wanna come in~ We could have some fun~"

"Oh my god, keep it in your pants," I exclaim with a little giggle, pulling the shirt off my head and folding it up while setting it down on the desk. A small smile on my lips as I turn around when I hear the curtain being pulled back, the male now clad in his hero uniform, with a charming grin on his lips. So, to play along, I pretend to swoon making him chuckle and catch me, "Oh my! It's Hawks! I'm saved!"

"You're so adorable," he says with a chuckle, poking my nose as he helps me to my feet and pecks my cheek without thinking making my eyes widen and him freeze. The winged hero clears his throat and rubs the back of his neck nervously, the male looking away to try and hide the bright red blush dusting over his cheeks, "Sorry... I — I... I don't know what came over me..."

"I — it's fine..." I reply, biting my lip gently as I look down at the floor, finding my shoes rather interesting with a small sigh, clearing my throat gently, "L — lets just go home..."

Nodding quickly, Keigo pushes past me without another word and heads out the office making me sigh gently. Yet, despite the rather awkward moment, a small giggle leaves my lips as I smile like a giddy little school girl. My insides bubbling with excitement as I walk out of the dressing room and lock the door with a small click. Running my fingers through my hair, I head down the hallway with a small hum, turning off the lights of the hallway as I go through the building. Flicking the switches with a click, humming as I make sure each room is locked shut.

As I leave the building, I lock the two glass doors shut after punching in the code for the burglar alarm and the security cameras. After making sure the building is locked up, I head down the street for a couple of steps before allowing my wings to spread and boosting me into the sky. Smiling to myself as I fly through one of the clouds ahead, giggling as some cloud catches onto my wings.

However, my smile begins to sour as I realise that maybe he didn't mean to do it. That the kiss wasn't mean to happen. My insides coiling in anxiety as my wings begin to puff up. What the hell was going on? What was I thinking?! Of course he didn't mean it! Why would he?... Why are feelings so confusing?! Why are they so difficult?!

I really needed to speak to Amai...

As I descend to the ground, I grab my house keys and allow my feet to touch the ground before unlocking the door and heading into my home. A giggle leaves my lips as Angel instantly races over to me and jumps up at my legs, her front paws grasping for leverage on my thighs as she barks happily up at me. Happily, I pull her into my arms and press a soft kiss to her fluffy white cheek releasing a giggle as she wriggles and barks in my arms.
