We finally pulled up in the loft's
driveway after we spent almost an hour getting rid of the paparazzi that were following us. Bill had more than one trick up his sleeve, and he managed to get us there safely. We were lucky it was nighttime already, because it would have been even more complicated for us to get there in broad daylight.

On our way there, I didn't get much time to think about how I would break the news to Alice and Carl, as I was too preoccupied replaying the vision I had in my sleep. I could feel Michael was nervous as well, as he stayed quiet from the airport to the Meyers'. He would only gently rub my knee from time to time in a reassuring manner, but not a word came out of his mouth as he was probably too absorbed by his own thoughts as well.

We hopped out of the car and headed directly to the building. When I was about to open the door to come in, Michael grabbed my hand, preventing me to do so. I looked up to him, and his expression translated worry and apprehension. He didn't know what was about to happen in here, and I surely didn't know either.

"Before we come in," he spoke in a low voice, as he grazed his thumb over my knuckles

"Before we come in," he spoke in a low voice, as he grazed his thumb over my knuckles. "Remember that
you don't want to get into a fight with your best friends. Whatever they hid from you, it was because they wanted to protect you."

"I know," I nodded, sighing heavily. "I won't take the risk to let the fight I saw happen. We need them to overcome whatever is coming our way."

"We do," he verified, looking down at our hands. "But first, they're gonna be happy to see you, so enjoy being reunited with them."

I simply smiled slightly at my husband, and exhaled heavily before I opened the door. When we came in, the loft was awfully quiet. We assumed that Brianna was already sleeping, which explained the quietness that reigned across the place.

"Hello? Guys, are you here?" I called, and commotion was finally heard down the hall.

Soon enough, Alice literally ran to the living room where we were standing. She was wearing her pajamas and had her toothbrush in her mouth with toothpaste all over her lips. That sight alone caused a giggle to escape my lips, forgetting for a second the reason why we came here in the first place.

"You're back!" she spluttered, as she quickly put a hand in front of her mouth. She held a finger up and ran in the kitchen to spit her toothpaste out, and came jogging back. Out of nowhere, she took me into her arms and hugged me tightly as if she hadn't seen me for a decade. "I'm so happy to see you! I missed you so damn much."

"I missed you too, Al," I smiled, rubbing her back gently. "Where's Carl?"

"He's in Bree's bedroom, she woke up, she was hungry," she explained, as she pulled away from me to look at me. "Girl, look at that tan! You look amazing," she complimented, and I thanked her sincerely. She turned her attention to my husband next and pulled him into a warm embrace as well. "You don't look bad yourself, Jackson. Looks like Barbados did you two good, huh?"
