My breath was taken away as I stepped into the tent where the reception party would take place. I hadn't have the time to see it all finished, and I couldn't have dreamed of a better setting. Huge bouquets of lilies and roses stood as the centerpieces of the round tables while soft jazz music was playing in the background. Further in the tent, on the other end from where I was standing, was the stage where the band was. It had thick velvet curtains on each side, which gave a very fancy look to it, in opposition to the romantic atmosphere that lingered in the air. Just in front of it was a large shiny dance floor on which I knew I would be dancing with my husband for the first time shortly.

Most of the guests were waiting at the bar while each and every one of them came one by one to congratulate us. I was very emotional at that point, as most of them reminded us just how perfect we were for each other. At the same time, I hadn't wrapped my mind around what had just happened yet. I still couldn't believe that I was actually married to my one true love, to the one person who showed me the true meaning of love and being loved back. At some point, I even started doubting this was even real at all, if all of this wasn't nothing but yet another realistic dream of mine.

"Hey Brit," Carl greeted me, and I was glad to finally have him standing in front of me. "You look amazing. Congratulations," he sincerely told me, as he pulled me into a warm hug.

"Thanks, C," I thanked him, patting his back. "I was worried. Where were you?"

"I was around," he evasively answered, giving me a faint smile. "I stayed at the loft longer than expected, I—I couldn't find my tie," he explained, and I frowned at his sudden nervous demeanor. "But what matters is that I am here now, and that I witnessed the most beautiful day of your life," he smiled, more sincerely this time.

"Right," I answered, aware that something was up with him. "You would tell me if something was going on, right?"

"Yes," he answered shortly, looking at me in the eyes. "Enjoy your night, Mrs. Jackson. Everything is fine," he assured me, putting his hands on both of my shoulders. "It's a real pleasure to see you this fulfilled and happy. Never loose that."

"I won't," I assured him, giving him a smile. He seemed genuinely moved, which got me emotional as well. "I'll catch you later, go have a drink and have fun, C."

"Yes ma'am," he smiled, before he disappeared in the sea of people. I watched him walk away, this weird feeling still present in my guts.

"Let me through, I want a hug from the bride!"

"Jan," I smiled at my sister-in law, pushing my inner thoughts aside. She pulled me into a tight hug, and I held her with the same force. "I missed you. I'm so happy to see you."

"Me too, beautiful," she whispered in my hair. "I'm disappointed I couldn't make it earlier, I would have loved to see you before you went out there."

"It's alright, you're here and it's all that matters," I reassured her, pulling away. "You look gorgeous," I complimented, studying her black and white suit. "You can pull off anything, huh?"

"You know it," she answered, flipping her hair in a bragging manner, which made me laugh. "I was just with Mike, the man is over the moon. I've never seen him like that in the past."
