She stood in the crowded ballroom. She wore a gorgeous red velvet dress. It draped to the floor with a tight bodice and no straps. A few silver jewelry pieces complemented the dress just perfectly. Her long brown hair was in a nicely styled up-do. She caught everyone's attention. She looked a million dollars. Men's eyes filled with lust, and women's with jealousy. People fluttered by and spoke quick words with her. It was a charity function. She was here because of her famous husband; her filthy rich husband. He was nowhere to be seen. She knew most people here, even though there where thousands. That didn't change the fact she felt homeless. She felt lonely. Everyone else had something she didn't; happiness. That's something she can't pay for.
