chapter 3

When Tony flew out of the compound, he had no idea where he was going. He was walking back to the compound, still in his suit, when he saw and heard someone getting beaten up. He flew over to help them, but when he got there, nobody was there anymore. He looked around for a bit, making sure he checked everywhere, before he started to walk away. He was about to fly back to the compound when some weird device landed on the back of his suit. It beeped then sent shocks of electricity through the suit and to his body, causing him to open it up and fall onto the ground. When he looked up, he saw people surrounding him. He started to go back to his suit when someone placed a burlap bag over his head and punched him hard in the face, making him go unconscious.

He woke up in a dark room, tied to a chair, with a rag wrapped around his head and shoved into his mouth, rendering him unable to talk. Then he was blinded by the lights turning on, and blinked rapidly, trying to get them to adjust. When they finally did, he saw a bunch of men in vests, with straps around them holding loads of gear, weapons, and gadgets. He was about to roll his eyes when he saw someone with a little badge on his chest. His eyes widened when he instantly recognized the symbol... HYDRA! He started to struggle against the restraints and cry, but they were muffled by the rag in his mouth.

"We've been watching you Stark... for a while now." Some random person behind explained. "We noticed something... you seemed to have caught the eye of a certain someone and we knew the only way to get to him was to capture you." When the man walked in front of him, Tony instantly knew who he was... Rumlow. He made a weird hand motion to one of the men behind Tony and then the rag was out of his mouth.

Tony inhaled deeply, and then glared at the man, struggling on the restraints again, "why you watching me? You want some?" He smirked. He got a kick in the shin and he groaned in pain, "you got the wrong person... Cap and I broke up. Sorry you can't use me to get him... find someone else." He growled, suddenly remembering exactly why he needed to escape the facility.

Rumlow and his men looked baffled by the information, "you mean to tell me that we can get them both in one go?" He exclaimed with an all too happy smile on his face, "... he ain't the one we were talking about, rich boy." He teased.

Tony gave him a confused look, "well then who are you talking about, filthy scum?" He got kicked in his leg and winced in pain.

Rumlow didn't answer right away... he just walked around him, eyeing him. When he got back to facing the billionaire, he placed a hand on the back of the chair, leaning close to his face with a sinister smirk on his face, "not only are we going to get America's Golden Boy, but we're also going to get the Winter Soldier back?!" He laughed, sounding disbelieving. "Well, well, well, boys," He clapped his hands and rubbed them together, slowly, "looks like it's gonna be an early Christmas this year!" He exclaimed, too happy for Tony's liking, while everybody else in the room cheered and clapped their hands.

When Tony heard "The Winter Soldier," he instantly became confused again, "Bucky?... what do I have to do with you getting Bucky?"

All of the others stopped cheering, and Rumlow rose an amused brow at him, "Ohhhh! Bucky now is it?" He teased, "you mean to tell me that he no longer answers to 'soldier?'" Everybody else in the room laughed after hearing this, "looks like you two have gotten quite close, haven't ya Stark?" Rumlow placed his hands on the man's knee's and gripped them tightly, "haven't you noticed it yet genius?" he mocked the title as he said it, "the reason we took you is because your the bait that will lure them here!" Him and his goons snickered.

Tony instantly tensed, "them?"

Rumlow smirked at him, "Them, as in Captain America and The Winter Soldier. You..." he pointed a finger at him and wiggled it around, smirking, "... are their weak spot, making you the perfect bait for them to do anything to save you. That mean's they will gladly walk right into a HYDRA base, thinking they are rescuing you, then BAM!!!" Rumlow clapped his hands together, making Tony jump at the sudden noise, "they're our little puppets... again!" Rumlow explained, while everybody else nodded and snickered in agreement. "and all because we got their little boy toy that they just can't seem to stop fighting over."
