"Hello officers.", August says with Kennedy standing behind him.

"We got a call about a disturbance, sounded like a fight. You care to explain this?", The officer asks seeing Peyton and Mariah unconscious behind them.

"Of course, so this all started when my fiancée's salon was broken into and destroyed a couple weeks ago..", he starts off.

"And that's how we ended up here.", August says sucking in his lips as Kennedy looks up at him then smiles nervously at the officer.

"So let me get this straight. Your ex girlfriend and your ex boyfriend teamed up together and destroyed her salon and practically stalked you and your relationship in hopes of breaking you up and you taking them back?", the officer asks.

"Yep.", August and Kennedy say in unison.

"This is literally the craziest shit I've ever seen.", he mumbles, "Did either of them admit it?", he asks.

"She did, got it on my security cameras that picks up audio.", August says.

"So did he, my watch also picks up audio which is now saved in my phone.", Kennedy says.

"In here!", the officer says waving EMS into August's house, "Alright, you two aren't being arrested simply because I don't think y'all would make any of this up. However, I do need you to bring whatever device your security cameras are hooked up to and you to bring your phone which holds the audio from your watch.", he says as EMS comes in with stretchers to take Mariah and Peyton out in.

"Okay.", August and Kennedy say in unison.

I'm probably about to lose my fiancé after this, but it's better for her to know now than when I play this video.

"Babe.", August says looking at Kennedy next to him.

"Yes?", Kennedy asks looking straight forward at the plexiglass in front of them.

"There's something that happened back at the house with Mariah that I want you to know before I show this security footage to the detectives.", he says.

"Okay, what?", she asks before closing her eyes and taking a deep breath.

"When she was trying to convince me to convince myself that I wanted her back, she uh.. She kissed me.", he says, making her blood boil all over again.

"Did you kiss her back?", she asks looking at him from the corner of her eye.

".... Yes.", he says sighing, "Baby, I am so sor-", he says trying to touch her hand.

"Don't fucking touch me!", she yells snatching her hand away and scooting her chair away from him.

"And you thought it was gonna be me, unbelievable.", Kennedy scoffs and folds her arms, referring to what he said to her a few months ago.

-flashback-

"I'm not even gonna sugar coat this, but I see us making it far. However, what happens after two years?", he asks looking down at his fingers, referring to her past relationship.

"Heh, I can't even be mad at that.", she says standing up.

"Look, I didn't mean to-", he starts as he sits up, but gets cut off.

"Nope, it's fine. I promise, just like I promised I wouldn't do that to you. Remember?", she asks grabbing her phone and walking out.

-flashback over-

"Kennedy I didn't cheat on you.", August says looking at her.

"Then what the fuck do you call it August?! You kissed somebody else! No matter how you word it or how you see it, you CHEATED!", Kennedy yells. "I swear if we weren't in this police station, I'd slap the fuck outta you right now.", she mumbles pulling her knees up to her chest and crying softly.

"Sorry for the long wait, do you guys need anything? Water, coffee, tea?", Detective Marshall asks.

"I'm good.", Kennedy says softly.

"Me too.", August says.

"You guys mind if I record this conversation?", Detective Marshall asks.

"No.", they say in unison as he nods and turns on the tape recorder.

"So Officer Robinson gave me the run down of everything that went down at your residence, I understand you're here to back up your claims with evidence?", he asks.

"Yes, I'll go first.", Kennedy says taking out her phone and going to her recordings, pressing play, then sitting the phone down on the table.

"Alright, August?", Detective Marshall asks taking down the last bit of notes before sitting his pen down.

"Yes sir.", August says clicking things on his laptop until he gets to the security footage from that day and puts it on the table.

"I'm not trying to fight shit, I don't want you back Mariah!", Kennedy hears August say on the laptop as she pays close attention to everything, until it gets to the part she was waiting for.

"Mm, stop", she hears before she hears the sound of him kissing her back, making her tear up once again and quickly look away from the laptop.

"Kennedy would you like to explain this to me?", Detective Marshall asks seeing Kennedy slap Mariah onto the ground.

"In my defense Detective, she destroyed my salon in attempts of getting August back and destroying my brand.", Kennedy says shrugging, "Oh and she spit in my face, which will be shown in the next few seconds.", she says giving him a closed mouth smile and leaning back into her chair.

"Okay, I have to say this is definitely the weirdest case I've come across all year.", Detective Marshall says, "However, I see no reason to arrest either one of you. You two were just doing whatever it took to protect one another and I completely understand that. As for your exes, Mariah will be in here for a very long time and so will Peyton. There won't be no him getting out on 'good behavior' this go round. Okay?", he asks.

"Alright, thank you Detective.", August says standing up and shaking his head.

"Yeah, thanks.", Kennedy says giving him a small smile and doing the same before walking out in front of August.

- by the way, i know that in real life that they definitely would've been arrested. i'm not stupid :)

"So you not gone talk to me?", August asks driving.

"There's nothing for us to talk about.", Kennedy mumbles as she looks out of the window.

"Ken, I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry, I just.. had a moment of weakness alright?", he asks looking at her then back at the road.

"A moment of weakness, August? Bullshit if I've ever heard it.", she scoffs, folding her arms.

"Babe-", he gets cut off.

"Kennedy.", she corrects now looking at the road, making him sigh.

"Kennedy, I have no reason to lie to you okay? I didn't mean to kiss her back.", he says.

"Of course you didn't mean it, August. Who ever means to cheat with the person they told their significant other not to worry about?", she asks looking at him as she fake smiles, rolls her eyes, and looks back at the road.

Defeated, he says nothing for the rest of the car ride.
