Two Months Later

"Okay, so what the hell is that supposed to mean?", Kennedy asks talking on the phone and sitting on August's lap.

"Baby, chill. It's okay.", August says rubbing her thigh as she nods.

"No, I just want it done Theresa. I'm not repaying anything because of your mistakes. How did y'all get my logo wrong on everything? My bonnets, my lace wraps, my shampoo and conditioner bottles? How did y'all not stop once to see that you got it wrong?", she asks rolling her eyes and resting her elbows on her desk.

My baby skressed y'all. She started the expansion of her business/brand about a month ago and she just keeps running into bullshit. Just like right now.

"Ugh!", Kennedy groans tossing her phone on her desk and putting her head down.

"Mama, things will turn up soon. I promise.", August says rubbing her back.

"I literally can't catch a fucking break babe, this is too much.", she says sitting back up and sighing.

"I know you ain't thinking about giving up.", he says looking up at her.

"No.. Maybe, I don't know.", she says covering her face.

"Well I'm here to tell you, you're not giving up. I won't let you.", he says shaking his head and taking her hands off of her face.

"Aug-"

"Nope, not happening. I won't allow it. We don't give up around here, we keep grinding until we can't no more. I know you can keep grinding baby.", August says as she takes a deep breath.

"Okay.", Kennedy says giving him a small smile.

"You can give me a bigger smile than that.", he says poking her in her stomach, making her laugh.

"Stoppp, okay.", she says as her laughter dies down.

"Now give me some love, I gotta go get the girls.", he says puckering up his lips as she leans down and kisses him.

"I love you.", she says against his lips.

"I love you more.", he says giving her one last peck before she stands up and hugs him.

"I'll see you later baby.", he says hugging her back.

"Okay, see you.", she says letting go and sitting back down at her desk.

As you can see I've started the moves into expanding my business into what is now KillaQueenLifetsyle. Aug is to thank for 'Killa' because he calls me 'Ken Killa' haha. Anyways, literally nothing seems to turn out right. Like how did you fuck up my logo?

"Well hello handsome.", A woman getting her hair done asks as August walks past her.

"You talking to me?", August asks turning back around.

"You're the only man in here.", she says looking him up and down.

"And he's just leaving.", Kennedy says walking to August and looking the woman up and down.

"Girl don't nobody want him.", the woman says rolling her eyes.

"The way you was just talking to me and looking at me really says otherwise.", August says raising his eyebrow.

"Now you can either show my man and I some respect or you can get out of my salon.", she says fake smiling making her go mute as Ken looks up to see August looking at her and biting his lip.

"I'll see you at home.", August says leaning down and pecking her lips a few times as Kennedy puts her hand on his face, purposely showing her ring as she pulls away and smiles.

"Aight baby.", Kennedy says running a hand down his chest and walking back to her office.

"Mm.", he says watching her walk away then looking back at the woman and chuckling as he walks out.

"That's what the fuck you get, disrespectful ass.", Ashley, one of Ken's workers mumbles lowly while finishing the woman's hair.

"What was that Ash?", the woman asks.

"Nothing, I was just saying I'm almost done.", Ashley says crocheting her hair.

"Hey girl.", Angel says walking in her office and sitting down.

"Hey babe.", Kennedy says updating her books.

"How's everything going?", she asks putting her feet in the chair next to her.

"These bitches at the manufacturing company fucked up my logo on all my product, my dad is flying down here in July, also I'm looking into hiring a new girl. I never hired one after Meeka, but since business is blowing up thanks to thirsty hoes after August, I have to do something.", she says.

"So August has become the main attraction huh?", she asks.

"Yeah, just had to set a bitch straight earlier.", she says rolling her eyes.

"Hoes is really just disrespectful.", she says shaking her head.

"As hell.", she says shaking her head.

"You excited about your dad coming down?", Angel asks.
"Yeah, I haven't seen him in over 10 years. I missed my daddy.", Kennedy says smiling and closing her book.

"I'm happy for you pooh.", she says smiling.

"Thank you, but what's up with you and Jah?", she asks resting her chin in her hand.

"Um.. we're good", she says scratching her head.

"You don't sound sure of yourself.", she says raising her eyebrow.

"I... I missed my period, Ken.", she sighs making Kennedy's eyes widen.

"How late are you?", she asks.

"Two days.", she says.

"Have you taken a test?", she asks.

"No, I haven't even told him yet.", she says rubbing her stomach.

"Are you going to?", Kennedy asks.

"Yeah, but we're not ready for a baby right now, if there even is one. We've only been together six months.", Angel sighs.

"Hey, if he's the one he'll understand babe.", she says giving her an assuring look.

"Hey beautiful, how was the rest of your day?", August asks as Kennedy walks through the door.

"Hey baby, it was good. Where's my babies?", Kennedy asks smiling and walking to the kitchen as August pecks her lips.

"They upstairs. I'm almost done with dinner, so tell em to come down here.", he says.

"Okay baby.", she says leaving the kitchen to go upstairs.

"Hey pretty ladies.", Kennedy says walking into their room and smiling.

"Hey Auntie Ken.", the girls say in unison.

"How was y'all day?", she asks sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Good, this girl was really tryna be on my top today. I handled it though.", Chaylin says.

"It was pretty chill, glad I spent time with the family.", Amaiya says smiling.

"I was sleep for more than half the day.", Kayden says chuckling.

"As you should, that's good, and I wish I could relate. Your uncle has dinner ready for y'all so go ahead and wash your hands.", she says standing up.

"Okay.", they says getting up and going to the bathroom as Kennedy walks out and goes back downstairs.
