Chapter 21: Valentine

Normal POV

A few days later was nothing other than Valentine's Day. Normally, Hawks did business as usual, like a Pro Hero should, but he was just so happy. He decorated the main part of his agency with red roses, which he brought himself to celebrate and cheer everyone up.

"Hawks, you're in a good mood today." Arrid said when he arrived. "Do you have a big date tonight?"

Hawks place a bouquet of flowers on the edge of her desk for decoration. "You could say that."

Arrid, who had feelings for her boss (btw never a good idea) was of course, disappointed.

Hawks, noticed and immediately plucked a rose out of the vase and gave it to her. "I'm sorry. I'm sure you'll find someone perfect for you someday. They just may not be as pretty as me."

She looked at him, surprised. He knows? She thought. "Wait, if you knew this whole time then why not me?"

Hawks looked at her, surprised as well. He had no idea about her crush, and felt kind of bad. So he answered honestly. "Because I like men." He smiled before continuing his decorating.

The truth shook her. He's with a man? The thought surprisingly relieved her. She couldn't help but think the idea of him with another man was cute. Although her crush on him would take time to dissolve, she felt a lot better after finding out there was nothing wrong with herself.

Hawks continued to decorate the main lobby until Jellion came over.

"Hey, boss man bird guy!" Jellion started. He then started to whisper. "Could you let Arrid and me leave early today?"

"Why? Do you have a date?" Hawks says in a low voice.

"No, not yet!" He responds. "I plan to ask her out though."

"I will only let you leave as early as 3pm, but only if she says yes."

"Okay, thanks man." Jellion scratches the back of his head and then spoke normal again. "Oh, by the way, Endeavor is sitting in your office."

Hawks looks up at him, but for once just smiled. "Thank you and good luck." He finished with the last bouquet before heading to his office.

Once arrived, he closed the door behind him and walked to his desk. "Good morning, Dad Endeavor!"

"What?" Endeavor responded, confused and not in the mood.

Hawks flashed his hand that revealed the ring on it. "We're getting married!"

"Oh, that." Endeavor continued. "I already knew about it. Please don't call me that when we are being heroes. I don't want people to get the wrong idea."

"What do you mean that you already know?"

"Natsuo let me know in advance and told me to distract you after that attack the other day." Endeavor explained. "Which brings me to why I'm here. I offer my home for your wedding. That way Dabi can be outside with family without revealing where you live."

Hawks couldn't believe his ears. Wedding plans. The thought almost shook him. But he was delighted with the offer. "That is a great idea, and I will discuss it with Dabi when I get home tonight. Thank you."

Endeavor eventually left and Hawks made a call to Natsu. "Hey, I need a favor from you. I can pick you up tonight."

Later Hawks arrived at the Todoroki house to pick up Natsu. He waved at Fuyumi as he stood outside waiting and couldn't help but picture the big day in their yard.

They arrived at home right before sunset and Hawks told Natsu to wait outside for a moment. Hawks opens the door to find Dabi in his usual spot. He then waved Natsu in.
