"She should," Fury starts, "She's you,"

Steve's head snaps to look at the director, his brows screwed up in confusion.

"Sir, I've heard a lot of confusing lingo in the last few weeks, but I've never heard that one," He responds, giving Fury a look.

"It's not modern slang, Captain. This girl has DNA almost identical to yours." Fury looks back towards the girl, "She's you,"

Steve watches her rhythmic breathing for a few moments, processing the new information.

"How?" He demands. His voice was stone, a brick wall you could tell was held together by unprocessed emotion.

"I believe they were friends of yours back in the day, the name 'Hydra' ring any bells?" Fury kept his tone professional. He watches the soldier tense at the name. He's silent for a few minutes as he stares at the girl.

"Hydra did this?" His voice almost held too many emotions to properly distinguish.

"That's what she claims, according to the source she had contact with," Fury explains, before adding on: "She had some sort of panic attack before she got here, triggering a fight or flight response. Since she logically couldn't do either, her nervous system went into overdrive and she collapsed. So they brought her in," he informs the Captain.

"Is she going to be okay?" Steve asks after a moment. His eyes haven't left the girl's sleeping form, as if he was still trying to believe she was there.

"She'll be fine. She was malnourished and sleep-deprived. They've got her on an IV of supplements, and with DNA like yours she should be in good health in a day or so," Fury rattled off what his medical team had told him. Steve just nodded in response.

They stood there a few more minutes. Steve just watched her. He watched her blonde hair blow slightly from her breath, he watched her chest rise and fall, he watched the little red line jump with the beating of her heart.

"What's her na-"

"Sir, we've got a location on Loki," Coulson's voice sounded through their coms.

"Copy that. prep a helicopter for Romanoff and Rogers," Fury responded, before looking to Steve "...are you good Captain?" he asks, an eyebrow raised. Steve nodded, still staring through the glass.

"Should I suit up?"

"J.A.R.V.I.S. hit play," Tony said as he approached the scene in Germany.

"Would you like me to connect my system to PA 'Quinjet C14'?" J.A.R.V.I.S. asked after discovering the link.

"Sure, why not?" The billionaire responded. He made his dramatic entrance, complete with an impressive superhero landing- perfectly timed with the music, of course.

"Make your move, reindeer games," He speaks directly to the abnormally-clad man in front of them. When he seems to surrender, Stark's weapons retreat into his metal suit, "Good Move,"

"Mr. Stark," Captain Rogers acknowledged Tony from where he stood.

"...captain..." He said, his slightly uncomfortable tone noticeably uncharacteristic.

They found themselves inside the quinjet, with their target bound, on their way to the helicarrier. Tony and Steve stood while Natasha sat piloting the plane.

"I don't like it," Steve cut the silence, speaking to Tony. He was uneasy, but he couldn't tell if it was his instinct or the part of his mind that strayed back to the girl.
