Steve watched as a bot zoomed towards Carter.
Dammit, kid, get out of here...
It streamed closer as he destroyed bot after bot, trying to get closer to her.
His stomach dropped.
He watched her golden, glowing eyes turn in the direction of the legionnaire approaching her as if she knew it was coming.
Then he saw it- the light reflected in her eyes. The bot held Loki's Scepter in its metal grasp.
Steve swung his shield back, aim focussed on destroying the threat to the girl who'd become his daughter, a reflection of his heart and himself, his mission. Another legionnaire collided with him- sending him flying out of eye-shot.
By the time that bot was destroyed, the other had disappeared-
And so had Carter.
