2- Sorted into the wrong house (harry and draco)

I remember the day like it was yesterday. The look of pain on my brothers face. I thought he would hate me but I was wrong. He still loved me but I guess I just felt like a burden.

"Oh another potter" the hat said in its creepily deep voice "any specific house my dear?" I cleared my throat "just like my brother please. I wanna be like him when I'm older" the hat chuckled "ahhh very cunning and ambitious... so different but so similar... hmm... well... it has to be..." the pause was awful and I made eye contact with Harry "SLYTHERIN" the slytherin table cheered and Harry looked like he had been punched in the heart several times but he still smiled at me and put his thumbs up.

That day is still so clear and it makes me feel awful "Hey daydreamer" I turned my head and sat up straight now noticing that everyone in the class was staring at me. Draco raised his eyebrows at me and smirked before facing the front again "five points from slytherin... miss potter learn to focus and not fall asleep in class" Snape snapped "yes sir. Sorry sir" I rubbed my eyes groaning softly "okay class dismissed. Don't forget to do your homework. It's due for Monday" I stood up and packed my things watching the blonde boy as he walked out confidently. I sighed before slowly walking out of the class and down the stairs smiling at the Weasley twins "hey Mariam! Have a sweet! Look... this one makes you sick so you get kicked out of lesson. Oh and this one makes you have terrible farts. Try it" George handed me the sweets and I smiled "thanks boys" I started to walk away and I looked at Harry and smiled at him knowing I had to talk to him but not knowing how to tell him I had a crush on his arch enemy. I walked to my dorm and sat down on my bed looking at my owl "angel how should I tell him? He's gonna be angry." Angel hooted at me and I sighed "why am I even trying to talk to you when all you can do is stare and hoot at me" I shook my head and laughed softly before leaning back into my bed sighing. Not five minutes later I was starting to fidget anxiously. I stared up at the ceiling before jumping off of the bed "I need to tell him. Wish me luck angel... I'm gonna need it" I opened the door and walked down the stairs. I looked down at the floor and bumped into someone before falling backwards "look where you're going you idiot. God-" I looked up and made eye contact with Draco who noticed me and sighed "I'm sorry I didn't mean that" he held his hand out towards me and I grabbed it. He helped me up and smiled "I'm just stressing over nothing" he said before patting my back and walking off. I shook my head and continued to make my way to the Gryffindor common room. After a while I finally guessed the right password and walked up to the boys dorms "Harry. I need to tell you something" I whined "come in" Ron called and I walked in noticing Harry eating some chocolates with Neville and Ron. "It's really important" I said sitting down beside Harry "okay... guys if you wouldn't mind" they both smiled and stood up before walking out slowly. "What is it?" Harry asked looking at me. I sighed and bit my lip worriedly "you can tell me" he said as he took my hand in his "I-i have a crush on Draco" I swallowed hard not being able to make eye contact with Harry "wait... what?" I sighed "I have a crush on Draco" he laughed a little bit "you're joking, right?" A look of shock and hatred covered Harry's face and I sighed "n-no..." he glared at me and I looked down "I'm sorry" I got no response and I played with my hands anxiously "get out Mariam" I looked up "Harry wait no..." he stood up "get out Mariam. I don't wanna talk to you or even look at you. How could you betray me like that. How could you betray yourself like that?! He's hurt you!" I stood up knowing he would bring that bit up and I rushed out of the room tears brimming my eyes. I knew that was such a stupid thing to do.

Harry's POV
I sighed starting to pace. She likes my enemy. How could she do this to me? How could she?! My mind fell silent and I sighed sitting down on the sofa "Harry..." a quiet voice whispered followed by a quiet tapping "Harry!" I flinched and looked up starting to look around "hello?" Another tapping sound was heard and I looked towards the window standing up quickly as I noticed a figure. I opened the window and pulled the soaked man in "Sirius what are you doing here?" I asked shocked "forgive her Harry. Love is love. Love is something big and love is something you can't get rid of. Even if it is with someone you hate" I frowned "but Sirius its Draco!" He sighed "I know... but you have to accept it. She's your sister. She was so anxious to tell you" he held my shoulder and I sighed quietly "wait why were you spying on her?!" Sirius sighed "bad people are around including dementors and I want to make sure you're all safe... forgive her Harry. Please. Mariam didn't want you to get angry at her" I sighed "I know Sirius but-" he cut me off "no buts Harry. Go find her and sort something out. If you need anything send me a letter" I nodded and watched as he climbed back out the window and disappeared into the darkness. Time to find my sister.

After about twenty minutes I finally found Mariam. She was huddled in the corner soft sobs falling from her mouth "Mariam..." she flinched "if you've come to yell at me then please leave" I sat down beside her wrapping my arm around her tightly "no... I came here to tell you that... it's okay... I'm not angry..." she sighed quietly "you sure Harry?" I nodded "I'm sure. You can have a crush on whoever you like." She smiled a little bit and wiped her eyes "do you think Draco is the right one for me?" I shrugged "it's up to you to decide that. I'm okay with you dating him but don't let him hurt you alright?" She nodded and leaned into me "I think he has a heart for you... he's always kind to you and I know he'd love to have you as his girlfriend" I smiled at her and rubbed her back. Now go find Draco and ask him out... maybe to the Halloween ball?" She smiled widely at me and I chuckled "go get him sis"

Mariam's POV
"Draco!" I called as I saw him walking with his friends. He turned around and smiled "oh hey Mariam" I smiled "umm... I-I was wondering... whether... you would like to go to the Halloween ball with me?" I asked quietly and Draco leaned forwards putting a finger to his ear "I can't hear you darling... what did you say?" I blushed at his words "will you go to the Halloween ball with me?" Draco smiled "I would love to..." he winked slightly and kissed my cheek before walking away slowly a soft genuine smile on his face. A blush had formed onto my face and I bite my lip softly before looking at the window seeing Sirius standing on the balcony. He smiled widely and put his thumbs up. I waved at him giggling softly.

Halloween ball

"If he does anything tell me okay?" I looked at Harry and kissed his cheek "I will I promise" he hugged and smiled before patting my back "go have a good time" I nodded and walked down the stairs my eyes connecting with those ocean blue eyes. I stopped at the bottom step and he held his arm out to me. I wrapped my hand around his arm and he led me towards the ballroom "you look beautiful tonight" Draco whispers into my ear and I looked at him smiling "you don't look to bad either" he smirked "did a potter just compliment me?" I giggled "I guess a potter just did" he held me close and smiled. He sat down next to the table and I sat beside him "I love you" Draco said and I looked at him "what?" He looked at me and smiled "I love you..." he held my hand and brought it up to his lips "I've wanted this ever since our first year" I smiled "I guess I love you too malfoy..." he pushed his finger against my lips and smiled "call me dray... only you can call me that" I held his hand and smiled "okay dray... I love you too" finally my dream had come true... finally.
